Sure, just as the entire session is sent plaintext. And mail. And telnet. And irc. And the list goes on.. woo how excitement! </sarcasm>
So even if you cared enough, you would need to sniff the cookie (and spoof the connection as well). But if you can do this, you have better things to do with your time, obviously.

Ah... I didn't think of that.
I'll have to look into supporting a proxy. I think it's possible.

If you're using a good http engine (that's what java is best at, engines btw), it will take more time to store settings and give a UI, than program proxy connections.
Importing IE or firefox settings from a shockwave application sounds impossible.

The protocol designed for joo's app doesn't send or receive plain text passwords.

Wow, he actually has a service to call?
It's a bit easier than parsing the characther page with regular expressions

Yes, it has.
Actually Cantr staff is angry, when spots bot parsing Cantr pages.

Yeah, not much of a surprise

Valuable bandwidth and CPU time flowing away.
I was kinda happy with refreshing the characther page, by the way, before i found CantrSpy.

Does that mean you don't like the auto-login functionality? It would do exactly the same as if a user logged in manually...
Edit: I suppose you were referring to bots that constantly refreshed.

I`m not good in programming, but option witch allows to enter proxy details manually are very good for me. I have no problem with this. And about bots, cpu/bandwith/etc killing i may advice option with information update frequency (with set minimum agreed with Cantr staff) and some maximum. For example personally i dont care about every single event, i just want to know when finaly my mapmaker reached destination location, so a check every 2 RL hours sounds ok for me. Not much traffic then and not much my attention needed.

What kind of proxy do you use? If it's a simple HTTP proxy, I should be able to implement that right away for the event updates but not the auto-login feature pretty easily. Otherwise, I'd assume it's SOCKS4 or 5?

Seems that only i sit behind proxy and looks like solution will be kind of personal (if will be at all) so lets move this proxy discussion to PM`s.
P.S. will send PM asap

that kind of coding..

chase02, i just did not wanted to:
a) show to public how little i know about proxies
b) did not wanted to share with everyone my proxy details
c) thought that there is much more important things to do than to code just for me
d) wanted to be kind and answer his question
So i posted as i posted. I see error i made - i did not stated in my previous post that i ask to put this all proxy thing aside and do some coding on things needed to broader public than me alone.
joo, i`m sorry for chase02`s words. I feel guilty about this.

Apologies, I guess there's a bit of a language barrier here.
I was just making a joke, I'm sure joo will be happy to help you..
