Its Impossible to get steel!!!!!

Ok you have everything you need, iron, coal, limestone... but then you need a TOOL! and that tool is made of Leather?? how the crap do you get Leather? what if you never had steel before how are you to make the machine that makes leather? let alone make a knife that requires steel!

You see, this is why IRL we have steel mills built especially for that purpose, funded by guys who have a lot of wealth to invest in all the machinery.

And you don't need steel for a knife, you can make one out of *NOT TELLING YOU* just as easily.

Now quitchyer whining

Leather is easy to make. just think how we make leather in RL... IG it's kinda the same.
You need a machine to make leather indeed, but ask pple IG for that.
Also you don't need steel to make that machine.
You should find this stuff out IG

BTW you can also make a knife from something different then steel

Lol these new changes to Cantr really sccrewed up alot of the ways of living. there is to much "X" number of Varibles to the game now. BUt its surea crap load hard to get Steel.

It is not impossible to make steel. And since reproduction of animals have been added to the game again. It will be easier to find animals. But remember you need at least two animals of the same type on the same location in order for them to reproduce. And I think if reproduction of animals is back then that means the staff won't be replacing them everytime a place decides to wipe them out.

There are non-steel or and non-iron tools. You just have to find out what they are and how to make them. It is possible to make leather without needing steel anymore.

But if you do find a hole it might be best to send an e-mail to the Resources Department. It could be that it is alredy known and that it is being worked on or that we might now know. Either way it is best that you e-mail Resources if you feel something is wrong. We are human and we do miss things from time to time.

To make steel, you have to have salt. Which on the main island, can only be found one place. Which is really annoying. They at least have to make salt more readily available.

I know, I just to had a steel factory and was the only guy in the dutch area who could make steel.. but now I must go and infd the resources needed to make leather.
Although this is bad for my char, and other chars who want steel, it is better for the game, it makes it more realistic. In RL you would also need some protection when making steel don't ya think ?

I just personaly think that if we do nee "X" tool to make steel it shouldnt be so hard to get. Salt is needed!??? jeeze were the crap do I get Salt.

Not true and which 'main island'? There has never been a main island.

I know salt is hard to find. But that makes the game interesting
Bummer is that I know where salt in the english environemt is but not in the dutch

I have checked teh Machine list and I dont see the proper Machine for makeing Leather, I see the tools but not the machine........ also is it possible to start a project with a tool? the same way a machine would?

On the island with the dutch starting locations the necessary resources and
raw materials are available to make steel. You just have to figure it out
how to do it and where to find it, and if it is not within your 'natural'
territory, explore or trade with other nations.

lol well atleast someone e-mailed them. But I was looking over the Machine list, and looking over how its done in RL and I dont see anything close to it. I see tools that were used but I dont see how you can start a "leather" making project with out a machine.
