About a week ago, marol sent me the details for retrieving character information from the server, and I have worked on the Windows version in the spare time I had - so, just so everybody knows, it is being done.
I was a little put off by the fact that the method I was using to display a dialog box for entering user details turned out not to support password fields, so, expect something green and uncompromising.
New features in addition to the existing functionality that I hope to include in the final release include:
- Option to open the user's player page in a browser window. If possible, I will be able to log the user in automatically, but this may be difficult at the moment without storing the user's password in an unencoded form, which for privacy reasons is, of course, undesirable. I may collaborate more with the ProgD on this subject.
- Automatic setting of program to run on startup, without need of manual copy to startup folder. This will, of course, be optional, but will be a little more convenient than before.
- Retention of all settings, including silent mode, after the program closes.
I should also be able to make the program capable of running on Windows Vista, and a Macintosh version - although I may have to do some research in order to the latter, as well as enlist the help of a
Mac user to help with testing.
Because I am also involved with another project which I am working on in my spare time, it is difficult to tell when it will be ready for public testing, but I would speculate possibly in a week's time it may be done.
Edit: changed title.

If will be windows and mac version, can we get also one for linux? Best it would be with console support for apps like conky, but only GUI also is fine.
Linux, Please

Alright, I will contact you if/when I get around to making a faggot version of it. However I cannot promise that I will be able to complete a reliable and fully compatible Mac version.

I had hoped that there were no Linux users who would want a version of the monitor, because the authoring tool that I use can only publish to Mac or Windows. Making a Mac version will be hazardous at best as I know almost nothing about how they operate, and Linux would be even harder as I would have to work with both a new shell and a new language... so, if there is to be a linux version, I'm afraid a linux programmer will have to make it. Either that or I could wait until the next version of my authoring tool comes out which might have support for Linux.
Maybe some magical programmer like Marol will be able to make everything better and port his code to Mac and Linux, but my speciality (if you could call it that) is Windows.

Argh, I had hope, that you will not say that...
I understand that you can't show source - security etc. But what you use to create this program? What you need? C? Delphi? Can you say what it uses?

Mac user? I would never have thought it!
I will keep you in mind when I need to test.

I'm using a... not so well known authoring program to make this. It's not the best choice for complex applications, but I have used it in the past for things like this, and I have the most experience with it.
I will be developing this in Lingo, using Adobe Director, previously known as Macromedia Director. Used to publish shockwave content to play in a web browser or standalone applications known as projectors. Can be extended with dynamic libraries known as xtras.

Really? Do you mean you use both Windows and Mac or you are bisexual?

Oops, lol. There's not even a download link yet. Stupid me for being ignorant.
And lol again, Doug probably meant he used both.
I'm so tired. I should go to bed. Good night.

Original Cantr Monitor was official game tool. Joo is not Programming Dept. member (though she has staff permission), so her (his?) program is something like third-party tool, therefore we don't take responsibility for it (especially for passwords users will enter). That's also a reason it should have different name than Cantr Monitor. Besides I might want to continue work on my Cantr Monitor

I'm pretty sure most girls don't talk about necrophilic rapes, so I guess we can assume Joo is male. And considering he doesn't want to play female characters having sex with male characters pretty much comfirms it.
Oooh, for the name. Call it cutiepie hello kitty Cantr easytoolthing.
