Would this be considered a CRB?

Having people do tasks and tell them they gained some experience and after a while even a level (You are now level 2 animal kissing!)?

It's sorta RPGish which might be a bit too much OOC influence, but I'd like to hear others opinion about this anyway.

Sounds quite CRBish to me. On the other hand, you could start a cult where people advance from level 1 (apprentice) to level 7 (grand-guru).

I was planning something along those lines. I won't give too much details yet, but if it wouldn't be considered a CRB then it'll be lots of fun.

"Good job collecting all these berries for me! Now you have gained 20 experience. If you collect blackberries for another day you should level up to a master blackberry-farmer!"

:)

We already have a skill system. That could be confusing. And experience points are really quite ooc. Couldn't you call it good karma or something?

If it's something your nutty character cooked up, if you avoid any blatantly obvious words that would have people emailing PD about you, it should be perfectly fine, I would think (the concept, anyway).

Yeah, that sounds good.
Same concept, different words.

Karma sounds stupid though. I'll think up something cute.

"You've gained 500 blackberry points! You are now a blackberry maid! Next is blackberry master!" or something along those lines.

Thanks, both of you. :)

Loool.

Isn't it a CRB telling people on the forum about something your character plans to do, though?

 My brain says that joo is correct that this is indeed a CRB in itself.

If people would actually use this info in-game. And I don't see how this info could be used in-game other than yelling "OMG THERE WILL BE SOMEONE WHO GIVES QUESTS AND LEVELS SOON!"

Discussing anything specific on the forum that is about to happen in-game, or is going on there is a CRB, whether players will use this information or not. Even for a simple character death there is the 4-day-rule, so characters have time to find out about the death in-game, in a natural way.

If you want to use anything like levels or points make absolutely sure everybody understands that those are fictional, awarded by your character, and have NOTHING to do with the 'real' in-game world. Preferably use other terms, that are plausible within the in-game situation, like giving positions your character awards some creative name and connect numbers to in-game units (coins, grams of iron, time used working, etc.).
