So, who uses CantrMonitor?

It took me a while to get around to trying it because it needed to be downloaded, but actually it's quite handy and saves me from having to log in only to notice that all my characters are gray. I've noticed sometimes it gets jammed and keeps saying that a character has a new event when I already checked that character, while fails to notify of other characters that actually would have real new events. Then I notice that the "Relogin" option is disabled and I have to restart the program to make it work again. I don't know what's causing this and usually it's easy to notice when a character keeps bringing up false positives, but if you had no characters lit up on the moment it got jammed, there would be no alert bubbles to catch your attention and when you log in, wondering how come there aren't any events this time of the day, you might find that there were actually four or six characters lit up. And then there's that thing that it keeps saying "None of your characters have events" even though when you hover over the icon, it does say that someone actually does. But despite these bugs, it's quite a revolutionary application and I'd recommend it to anyone who can use it.

Basically it tells you right away when you get new events?
Bad thing for me then. I simply log in once a hour or two hours.
Else I check it way too often and my minutes go down the drain reaaaaaaally fast.

You can put it in silent mode, then it only changes the icon to green but doesn't bring up message bubbles when characters light up. And if you use auto hide taskbar then you wouldn't see the icon unless you're clicking on something down there. But it's true it's hard to avoid logging in straight after even if you knew it's probably nothing important anyway.

I use it, but the bugs, and the lack of an option to open a web page logged-in on your player screen, combined with the fact that the original developer has apparently discontinued production, makes it a bit annoying.
I'd make my own version of it if somebody could give me the details of the feed which is used to obtain character information, but that hasn't happened yet either.

I never had as many bugs as you guys.. maybe because I'm still running xpsp2.. i dunno.
The only thing I noticed is that whenever I have a new event for only one character it likes to pop up and tell me there is no new events, yet the icon turns green, and when I hover my mouse over it, it tells me who.
Once I got used to that it was fine.

I haven't noticed it being that buggy. My browser freezes up more often than Cantr Monitor... Then again, I don't always always use the monitor thingy.

Just started using it, and wished that there was a version for Mac.

I'd also be able to make a Mac version... I think. Do Macs have a system tray?

Macs do have something similar to the windows system tray, yes.

That's incredibly unhelpful.

Links are on this page.

So, am to take it that nobody who knows the connection method marol used or has his source code is actively browsing the forums? I suppose I could try disassembling the application to find out, but that would be an imperfect solution.
