The oodles of animals

I'm just wondering... When/how did Buffalo and all those other sorts of animals come to Noniwrok? I don't remember there being Buffalo there back when I last played... And the only place that I'd seen exotic animals was on Burgeo. o___o There's so many funny named animals, lol, I have to search online to figure out what they are.
Only to learn its a variety of bird or buffalo or whatnot. Hee. When was this added?

Buffalo have been on that island for as long as I can remember.
As for some of the others, Doug went through and changed the names of a lot of animals to add diversity to the regions though over the past year or so. There are a lot that he kept the basic animal but added a different breed/species of it. Red-tailed hawk vs spotted hawk vs regular hawk, etc. So they're not really exotic, just more specific.

Oh wait... Yeah... Now I remember the day the buffalo were first put there. I think some girl in the De Dannan was of the buffalo at the time. Her name started with A... She was older than Suzima.
Before the 1000s, I'd guess.
Wow. I'm old. XD
