What type of player are you?

Postby Razorlance » Thu Jun 26, 2008 5:12 pm

Hardcore players:

They have most if not all the available characters slots filled and uses most if not all their minutes each day, some or most of their characters will be active for long periods and are usually town/business/pirate leaders. These are the ones who get the most frustrated due to the lack of awake players to plan coordinated events such as Tadpole mentioned.

Casual players:

They have less than half their characters slots filled, they will usually log on maybe once or twice a day, maybe only playing a few characters each time and never run out of minutes. They will not generally do much unless another character specifically asks, and even then might not bother straight away.

When I same somewhere in between, I mean do you have periods of increased activity due to holidays, then quite times during heavy work loads, exams etc. But try to choose one of the first two options which applies the most to you before considering this option, thanks. :)

This is a poll based on my post in the 'Cantr is Dying' thread here

Casual. Though I log in many times during the day, it's never for long.

sigh...hardcore I confess...

mainly due to the fact that my job is to run an online rpg, so I am literally here from about 5 am- 5 pm every day. I have a desperate need to get away from my own site to keep me sane, so checking in on Cantr once an hour is easy for me.

Thinking more, though I check in that often, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm active for all charries. Some seem like sleepers either because there's no interest in their location, or they are rp'ing sleeping just to tick certain characters off.

I wonder how many others are awake, but playing possum. Is there a category up there for that?

I have only two characters, but I assure you they are some of the most active and aggressive merchants on Cantr.

ex-hardcore player

trying to get any large organisation in place, or any organisation at all is very disheartening, as there's simply not enough active and reliable chars to achieve it, so I gave up.

My 2 chars are active and responsive, but I never feel motivated to attempt anything big these days.

Casual here... but only checking once or twice a week on average. Once a day during weekdays on good weeks and not at all during bad weeks.

I guess I'm somewhere in between.. I think I've got 10 characters and that's the most I've ever had at the same time. Each of my character's activity vary.. some are more active than others.

Hardcore. Though a recluse with a large portion of my chars at any time, or I have too few minutes to play.
