Envelopes, seals and seals
When an envelope is sealed "normally", what appears on the seal? The character's name as it's currently set? What about if it's sealed using a seal and sealing wax? Does this seal look just like a "normal" seal?

When you seal without a seal tool, the name recorded is what you currently have named yourself. I think that seals as in tools have a name like a coin press and when it's used, the name on the seal is stamped there instead.
If an envelope has been sealed once, it cannot be sealed again.

Doesn't that make seals totally pointless?
Mr Important writes letter, places it in an envelope and gives it to Mr Insignificant to deliver.
Mr Insignificant opens it, and reads the letter.
Mr Insignificant changes his name to Mr Important.
Mr Insignificant aka Mr Important creates a new envelope, puts the letter in it, and seals it.
Mr Insignificant aka Mr Important changes his name back to Mr Insignificant.
I've not ever had reason to use seals so never tried them out, but sounds like something rather easy to get round. A sort of perfect-forgery.

I'm not entirely sure if this is correct.
I was working through some old trash envelopes recently and i came across a few sealed envelopes entitled with 'For the attention of xxxxa charxxx'. Yet there was nothing in them which suggests the contents were removed and the envelope resealed.
However the people described in the titles died years and years ago, so perhaps resealing used to be possible but isn't now.

There is that, yes. Maybe it was a cunning ploy specifically to make those of us who think they've spotted something that isn't quite accurate look like idiots when they raise the subject.

Just wondering... would that be a CRB (abusing the game mechanics) or just acceptable, to-be-dealt-with-in-game forgery?

Um...
When Mr. Insignificant gives the letter to Mr. Bob, Mr. Bob will see Mr. Insignificant's name on it since he didn't know Mr. Insign. changed his name. In his "mind" the seal will seam to appear to him as Mr. Insignificant if he knew him prior to the delivery. Or if he knows Mr. Important and not the mailman it would be obvious the letter was broken into.
Say you name somebody Bob. Bob changes his name to Steve. You will still recognize him as Bob.

Seals are not directly linked to the dynamic name. The original scenario is correct. When you seal an envelope, your name as you see it is put onto the envelope as non-dynamic text. It is therefore possible to forge someone else's name.
