Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day !!!
Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine.

If you have family and friends that love you, then you have love. It's not just about romantic love. Only falling prey to commercialism makes it about just that kind of blankityblank love. Family and friends (a very few friends anyway) last longer.
My sister's the one that actually made it nice this year instead of just another day like it generally is to me. She almost made me cry with the gift she gave me. She gave me a nice box that said thanks for all the memories on the outside, and here's to looking forward to making a lot more on the inside of the lid, then put a bunch of our old little toys in it that we used to play with along with a big pile of old pictures of us doing stuff together. Now that is showing love.
It's such a wasteful holiday though. Gifts are usually flowers that wilt, balloons that deflate, candy that is eaten and provides only short and unhealthy enjoyment, etc... Not that they aren't sweet gestures, but still...

Happy Valentine's Day!
Though I do agree to an extent that this is a rather "wasteful" holiday, it does stimulate the economy a bit as well as drama (due to jealousy and what not). haha okay so that's the cold side of the pros.
The warm side: It's nice to have a day to celebrate love and friendship. It's nice to indulge once in a while, blowing a few bucks on beautiful flowers, chocolates, spas and massages (things that don't last long) as long as you take the time to spend the special day with that special someone so that the memory will last a lifetime
