Seeing a room full of dead people and recognizing all of them by name except for one.

Some were starvation. One was killed with sabre (a girl my character had a bit of a crush on) but maybe they said she killed herself. I suppose people would've told me if she had been murdered.

I think maybe just potatoes would be a bit more depressing.

oh yea.
having a character live his entier life working for one company, then the leader dies, leaving you to be the head (wile you were on a recourse run, and he died out of sadness of his wife's death, and the wife died becaus she lost interest in the charrie becaus you stopped a convorsation becaus you said something stupid! (this "you" is actually me) and then have some bas-taird come along and kill you off becaus you were gone trying to enlarge the company, and this bas-tard now has a fourtune! my richist, most well established charrie died just 'caus he had a crowbar and I was dumb and didn't carry mine around, and i trusted him enough for me to go into the building, were he then dragged me into the back room, and then killed me.
short version, I accadentaly killed the company heads wife, then that killed the head of the company, then i die becaus i trusted some bas-tard, leaving him with a fortune and me without one of my most well established charries.

Well Pie that's really not all that depressing in game... since your character is dead he can't really be all that depressed.
And off subject.. Phalynx, that kid almost having an epileptic seizure is a little scary.

Exploring the great blue ocean for years upon years and then finally finding land. Sailing along a coast for years, never finding a place to dock until you finally starve to death.

Being on a very animal aggressive, primitive island and heading off to gather all the materials needed to make iron... then returning to homebase and actually smelting the goods into iron, then making the shield... then one day before the shield is complete, the only other person in the town say, "You aren't in my plans" and he attacks you. After a chase, he finally kills you on the road.

depressing...let's see:
You have a peacefull char that loves his own life and bla bla bla...when he comes back from a, let's say, resource run his friend tells him that there is a group of lithuans trying to clean them off the island and to meet him and his boat on the west part of the island....So your char runs to the west zone being tracked down by those lithuans who attack him merciless and decide not to rp with him. Whatever your char does the hunter only attacks not saying a word. When the char finnaly loses him, he has 95% of damage...But he doesn't quit, he crawls towards the west location. Passing through a lithuan location where he crawls towards that place not saying a word( only used emotes) but the people there "guessed" he was portuguese so they join in the hunt...Still not knowing how, the char gets to the suposed place.

( now the depressing part comes) he made it! he was going to be a hero...but...no boat...just a man there, who, only jos knows why, decided to attack him too! luckly he survives the attack but of course those other people he never saw in live and shouldn't have nothing against him reach the location and end the suffering...
thats depressing....oh and also this:
"you have used all your minutes. Come back tomorrow"

Maybe it's just me, but I'm noticing a lot of character death lately. More often than not it's an important person dying of a heart attack/starvation. Are there that many people unsubscribing?
