alcohol vs biodiesel

Postby bmartes » Mon Sep 10, 2007 7:44 am

When looking in the wiki how to use soda, I noticed that to make biodiesel you need to use alcohol.
Alcohol and biodiesel is used as fuel for vehicles. (don't know how that is implemented, but that's another question)
But, when you need alcohol to produce biodiesel, I guess no-one is ever going to make biodiesel.
You can use alcohol which has a better result in engines.

We don't need a discussion about the climate here, but, why do we have biodiesel in Cantr?

Because biodiesel is better than alcohol? Since it's made out of alcohol and requires an insane amount of water and special equipment, it will also be more efficient than alcohol because RD always takes stuff like that into account. In fact, alcohol will most likely suck. Propane might be more efficient than alcohol, at least if you don't have a well and it also has a use in making steel.

Ok I get it.
When they say in the wiki;
Engine A will accept four types of fuel, with different usage factors:

* propane 4.0
* alcohol 3.0
* biodiesel 1.0
* petrol 1.0

The Usage factor means that I have to use 3 times more alcohol than biodiesel and petrol, right?

Yes, exactly.
I will attempt to make this info better displayed soon, I have some ideas for that.
