The awkward feeling of someone having too much info

How often do you get the distinct feeling that a character knows too much to just have in-game information? Not that it's evident at all times, on the contrary, but it just feels... awkward knowing that everything you say to someone can be turned against you by another character just one town away...

So... is it really common for players to have two or more characters in the nearby regions? or am I being paranoid? Otherwise... confess!

No paranoia, I can see why you would think so. I have wondered that same thing myself a couple times, but in the end, it really doesnt matter. I just play the same I would anyways, and if a player wants to ruin the experience by cheating in that regard, then that is their prerogative.

Pretty much ditto what Cdls says. I had three characters on K-Isle and I managed to not cheat, although I do admit that at times their memory lines blurred together somewhat, but never with anything important (just with little things like remembering information from notes another charrie had, etc.)

It was easy to keep them separate in regards to who they knew and what they thought of people (two fancied the same girl, actually, for completely legit in-game reasons, and the one never trusted the other because of that. Luckily, the one lived on the other side of the island and they only met up twice).

I managed it, but it wasn't an ideal situation, and I could easily see how someone could get confused or cheat. But why worry about what the next player's doing? It just takes the fun out of it.

You have to realise some charries may be smart, attentitive, and by certain actions the ones around them are taking, and what they are saying.. One may be able to presume what is possibly going on somewhere where they are not, but I'd believe usually it is close.

Edit: Sorry I didn't really answer the question.. Personally I usually don't like to have charries to close to one another. And some charries do seem to know too much sometimes, but you never know.. so I never presume they are cheating or whatever you want to call it.

in the dutch area it's really frustrating the last days. Characters say they know friends from somewhere else, and know information from them, while they are just spawned and have never left their spawning-place :S

but, after a couple of terrible days, it's getting better again :)

Now imagine yourselves having 15 chars in only three islands! And in the earlier days of portuguese players there was only one, thank god others were found nearby... :)

Do you mean, like, you steal something from one town (radioless) then in another town, some guy is like "Hey, you look suspicious, and it looks like you're carrying a lot"? lol.

That sounds a lot like something that happened to me recently.

I'm absolutely HORRIBLE at reading maps so none of my characters use them. This in itself has caused me a couple problems over the past two years...

I'd have one girl who is stable in a town and all of a sudden, one of my travelling girls stumble on that town and begins her own rp there... I always try to keep the girl that is travelling's rp down to as little as possible, make up an excuse and travel on.

In all the time that I've played Cantr, I've jumped on the boards sporadically here and there just to see what is being talked about and in some cases, I've found out information that some of my characters didn't know or when I'm in game and a thief stole something from one town and in a year or so, after chasing the thief, they both arrive in another town that my other girl is at... But I digress from my points...

I am proud to say that not ONCE have I been part of a CRB because of information I may have on one character or may have found out on the boards...

Your goal is to remember to always speak consistantly! *ducks and hides*

Lol I wasn't referring to a real situation. I haven't played Cantr in weeks now.
