After a recent thread of mine, I thought of this idea.

Post your oldest character's age... and a brief history of it's up's and downs. Also include times at which his/her life was threatened, ie how he/she got so old.

You do NOT have to include a name.
You can post a couple of characters or more if you want.



40, Eldaros Sycolo.
Got to this age because he built(building) a successful empire east on the coast of an unpopulated continent. Was almost killed several times by some local enemies on the land.

Faolan (Liren) Venn -- 25

(He was my first character, so he ended up in prison because I was pushing buttons trying to figure stuff out.)
Faolan was taken to prison and nearly killed because he tried to take out a thing of food. He begged and begged and finally was let out and worked as a slave, pretty much, until the leader left on a vacation. Then he dropped everything that he had used in the town, including food, and ran away. He's been nearly starved, and murdered, but people seem to like him or not notice him at all.

Age 68
Once worked for POL, but helped in the revolution against the standing government of Akypor when Lance died and POL became corrupt. Has otherwise lived a mostly peaceful life. He remained seperate, but has worked closely with the Tavern in Akypor and both branches of Xanth in the nearby forests. Has made so many friends that he has ended up with enormous wealth, including two very expensive motor vehicles. Was once asked to take over ownership of the Tavern, but declined. Presently devoting life to the betterment of the whole island. Constructing lots of roads between towns, and developing a repeater network that he hopes will eventually cover the entire island. Some of you may know him, but his sphere of influence is fairly small.

Estiil Faun, age 79
Spawned in Karnon Forest, an active member of TBR until day 1026 when she "acquired" one of their longboats and set sail across the open sea. Two years later she discovered an island which she has been exploring ever since. She hasn't seen another person since day 1026, but she has led a very interesting life. Her only complaint in life is that she has yet to find rubber in order to build a bike to explore faster.

Dick Shakespeare, Age 68
Spawned in Karnon Fields or Karnon Forest (can't remember). Fled the forest when the war was waging and he refused to fight. He lived in several places philosophizing and helping others. Soon grew tired of the island and built a longboat and set off to discover land. Sailed for years and years and hit a beach when he was nearly starving in 1239. Started to discover the new land when all of a sudden places lost their names. Was totally lost because of this and has been travelling around ever since. Can't make iron and has only once found a place with wood. Has encountered two persons since he has been on this island. Hasn't been able to communicate due to language difficulties.

Won't reveal the name, but he's 90 and has spent most of his life at sea, exploring.

Oddly my two oldest both spawned on the same day. 51 years old.

Both have similar roles but one is forced to go about it in a way against what they believe while the other goes about it in a way that the first would prefer to.

Mine are all long dead, though they died young at heart.

you know, you almost killed your enemies a few times also, but thank god bad luck, bad planning, and bad skills are against you.

he's 40 now? Dang, time has past... I remember when he was a newspawn.

Age 101

Helped fight a group she knew as the Smoke Jaguars. Ran a town. Was married. Now retired and wandering.
She's had a few people threaten her, but those usually either hadn't the weapons or the manpower to make much of those threats. I must say it's easy for a char to grow old when others near them are protective.

Age 58

Originally a simple kitchen hand, did a lot of traveling and has now settled down to rule a town or two. Has never experienced any real difficulties in life but is naturally cautious.

Age 78, although he cannot count that far so if you ask him how old he is the answer varies between "I dunno" and "one hunnerd". He started wandering when he was very young and found some friends. They went to find wood on the other side of the island. On the way back they ran into lions but there was a lot of abandoned buildings so his friend and a random person who happened to be in town dragged him inside. He got attacked by lions a few times but managed to get healed. Then they killed so many lions they weren't seen for years and it was all peaceful. One day two lions ere seen and he chased them, but then they vanished. (One day there was 4 lions left on the whole island, soon after none.) Later some people tried to take over his town and they managed to break into the building people were hiding in and dragged him in their locked building, but they didn't hurt him. Then Mac Gregors busted him out of there. Since then he hasn't done much except that his friend taught him how to knit, somewhat.

Age 62. Spent many younger years usefully, some in leadership, though wasn't suited for it, then the rest of the years in a drifting slumber to this day.

Though my very first would've been about 72 if I'd not let my account time out the first time.

Age 58 (when she died. It was when I quited second time)

The day after she was born, she met a friend that had a sloop and was invited to join to explore the north waters. (from the swedish island) The friend died less than a year later and she was left alone. There was plenty of food in th boat so she just let it sail in the direction he had started it. (north) Some years later she saw land, and followed the coast, afraid to set foot in land as she saw strange big lighthouses and harbours with strange names. And boats also with strange names. After rounding a big landmass, she had free waters to the north again and let the wind fill the sails again.

She slept for many years and was very ill starving when she woke up. But there was still some food in the boat and a lot of raw meat, wood and a smoker, so she find herselfe something to do for some years also.

Again she fell asleep and didn´t woke up until she had been stranded to a big desert beach. As there was no suitable place to dock, she followed the coast again.

Now she saw no signs of life and dared to dock twice. She did hunt some and farmed some potatoes before she set sail again and find open waters to the north once again.

She passed some places in the sleep got open waters again and after another half year saw her birthplace. She was very surpriced as she thought she had gone away from it all her life. She had no desire to speak with the people there so she just turned the boat east instead of north and sailed away.

After some decades at sea, she saw land again. Some small islands that she managed to pass, and soon a bigger explored island. She found some maps and they were in swedish so she realised that again she had come to her homelands. With the maps she could find out that she was not yet very close to her hometown, and she desided to stop travel even she was close to have circeled the globe twice.

She satteled and tried to start a new life. Soon she realised that it was not her way of life and gathered alot of food again and set sail the the north once more. She died of an heart attack just some years later.

Makes my 88 year old seem like a young 'un
