I can't believe I did this...

Ok, stuff started happening in one of my characters. Some people came to attack, yada yada. We knew they were coming, but not that moment. Anyway, in real life, I started shaking up real bad, I was shaking big time and REAL scared. My heart was thumping EXTREMELY fast and loud.

Has this ever happened to you?

Nope can't say i have, even when there has been times when my characters are getting a real whipping and yelling their nut's off. At the end of the day it's not happening to you but your character, always remember to dissasociate from what you would do to what your character is doing. If you play a real evil nasty one expect to get some real shit flying at your fan along the way. And even if you would bottle out in real life doesn't mean that the one your playing should do if it's to fit their character, they have to remain tough to the end. But maybe thats me who knows, I do get a fast heart beat but mainly through laughter from my end more then fear of a situation the character is in. Whats the worst that can happen in confrontation in Cantr? Your character gets mashed to pieces or you live to breath another day with that character.

You're the "prisoner" right. Can't remember if that was your character. I'm careful about what I say.

If you are. I have four words.

I... hate... you... (OOC)

But on this occasion i wasn't guilty of giving you the shakes today. *skips of after a warm hug to control the nerves*Be brave...but yay, my first ooc hatred flame for not even my char. i just love the cantr world. Yes, it happens to me all the time, I get excited and super focused....I would say things slow down, but thats just lag, lol.

Anyways, it happens when I enter a fight, usually when I am the bad guy, I just get excited but if I am the good guy, my clicking hand get a bit shakey as well. I am usually the attacker so I guess I know whats going to happen or could happen, think about all that and hope I am faster than the other to act. I think thats the only time I get like that, if I have enough time to get like that, like preparing an attack...it only happens a minute before the attack and during the attack, it doesn't really happen if I am defending unless I have enough time to move around and they are sleeping or something. I guess I am just so into the moment or something.

In my case, I'm the defender who thinks he's the good guy but is beginning to contradict what his leader told him.

OOCly I never trusted any minute of it... ever. But I love that character so much since it is my ALL TIME FAVE and I don't want it to die.

So and So is real intimidating btw. *shudder*

Events too current to throw out names right now. -Hermitess

Maybe its the connection to the character and not whether hes good or bad. When I say it doesn't really happen when I am a defender, its because when I wake up its already over for now or I am screwed...mostly meaning I can't act anymore, but if I wake up at the right time, I guess it would be the same thing, specially when you know a boat is about to dock, it works like that too...just not as strongly.

I've gotten "that feeling" a couple of times, well actually more than a couple. The first time was when Maline got imprisoned by Baron F, it happened when I was online. Imagine when you notice someone entering a room and refresh a page only to notice that your character has been dragged through two doors into a locked building. Escaping was also exciting. Then there's this other character I can't talk much about since I'm still trying to keep it a secret, but that person was also locked up and I was totally nervous because I was imagining the worse things that could happen. But turned out the capturer was mostly bark and very little bite.

It happens from time to time.
Usually always during times of conflict, and especially with character's I've built up.
It's actually pretty interesting.

Yes

If you identify with your characters then this is going to happen - Maybe thats not great roleplaying - maybe true roleplayying you can divorce youself totally from your chars , but yes its happened to me

It's happened to me too, and I think it's a sign of great roleplaying because you know the character enough to feel for them.

Although i don't get fearful when mine have confrontation or fighting, i know full well you can't always seperate yourself from your characters emotionally. I have certainly got choked up with tears when i've lost ones i've very much enjoyed playing and when they have lost ones that have become family to them ingame, that hurts just as much at times as losing your own.

When you play a character that you know are going to be fighting thats when it really hits home if you really want your character or not, it takes time of stress to realise you have given them a piece of your heart in their making and creating and often this is only realised when the events are too late or in full swing where the outcome may well result in losing them.

I guess what i'm saying to you is don't take it personal to yourself when your characters are in battles or confrontation, you have created them and it's their lives you have led that have brought them into the scene, wether thats the good guys, or playing the bad guys. It's very tough and stressful to play a baddy even though it sounds exciting to play a master criminal that takes guts as a player to do that when in real life you just wouldn't be that way. But it's just as much stress also to play a hero. Thats the addiction at Cantr to witness life in different ways of living in society through their eyes

Convulsions (shaking up)
Muscle spasms (shaking up)
Strange sensations/emotions (being scared)

I'll come back with more later but it could be serious.. could you give a bit more detail?
