Come on guys, my characters are tired of waking up all during the day and not seeing anyone even talking or moving around. I mean I know we all have stuff we have to do in real life, but if we ever want to see the world of Cantr advance we need to sleep a little less and do a little more. I so long for some others to play with, and thanks to the few that are awake on a regular basis, but it seems like the majority of the charries only sleep now. 6 months ago there was alot more activity then there is now. :(

I have started today trying to recruit more players online and in Real Life. We have a very small amount of players on Cantr, and that is one of the reasons we are seeing less and less activity. I hope that I am succsessful in recruiting some active players, but even then they will not stay long if those of us here do not keep active so that they will enjoy it as well.

PLease don't think I am fussing at anyone, because I know how busy all of our lives are, but lets see if we can give Cantr a little more, and maybe make a difference. :D

My characters are normally awake during the day, and I try to keep them talking when I can.

It is indeed quiet, but I guess a lot of people in the northern hemisphere are on vacation.

I've unfortunately been hit with a recent Rome: total war addiction, resulting in my character's turning shy and quiet :?

Well, it sorta depends on what country you are from. I can only see other people being online if I go on early in the morning, otherwise it's all quiet.

My characters are lucky to have someone to interact with during my daytime. Most of the activities happen during night-time for me...

I don't even ask for people to be awake regularly, but just to interact with me when they are. I don't think that's too much to ask, but apparently, it is.

Guerilla marketing idea: Start hanging Cantr flyers in the inside stall doors of public bathrooms. "Now that I have your captured attention..."

Make the flyers Doug and I will hang them.

Cantr characters doesn't need to interact much. They don't need to cooperate to achieve goals, since the Cantr world has unlimited resources and technological growth is an easy and ultra-fast way (it isn't scaled with the slow paced interaction), unlike social growth. You try to establish a society around a certain level, and you are soon overhelmed by the availability of new machines, tools and projects which catch all attention and totally spoil the local society by introducing a revolution-like advancement each few Cantr years.

Apparently, only when almost the full tech tree is developed, and all local characters are up to that level, Cantr societies have time enough to grow socially.

This is basically the same that happens in powergaming RPGs, where all people is busy building skills and gathering items with a promise of fast success until they hit the top level. Then they really bother to interact.

People are not going to RP with you more if they have less stuff to build. Why is it so hard to accept diversity in the player base? Some people like to build things, some people like to be social. Isn't is great that Cantr facilitates both?

Not sure I agree about the tech level. I've seen both ends of the spectrum - towns with little hope of having much of anything are very active, and "rich" towns with mobs of people who say nothing.

Sometimes it just takes someone saying something to spur discussion or interaction. It doesn't have to be a lot, and maybe that's what hangs people up.... They think they have to do some elaborate emoting or some such.

Everyone plays on different schedules and sometimes people just don't have time to do much more than setting up a project due to RL stuff. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to play my chars the way their personality requires, so they are silent until I have some inspiration. I love the fact that Cantr has something to offer to a wide variety of players. Some simply aren't as interested in RP or a little self-conscious about it. It took me a little time of playing before I was comfortable with RPing to some extent.

Yeah, I try though to get people to RP, talk, or do something all the time. I even RP with the animals because everyone sleeps. *laughs* I RP every single hunt, and make it interesting for the people watching, but still I get very little responses...

 Looks like I spoke too soon. I am sitting here RPing with a good amount of people all of a sudden. It is like they all woke up at the same time. *does the happy dance*
