When babies are implemented.

I've just posted a summary in the accepted suggestions for babies and thought I would start a new poll to get current thoughts on their implementation.

There is already a similar poll set up by Seko

Please see http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9557

I'm unsure what this particular poll will add to the debate ?

Less options will bring out the opinions more clearly. And there is less shadiness in interpretation. Also the other poll is a couple of years old so many voters may have quit since. A fresh one might reflect the current situation better.

I kinda hope there would be some progress on the matter because Cantr often feels empty for me. I've decided not to create any more newspawns. You can kick me if I do.

i wont just write it off, nor will i jump on the bandwagon. I need hard info on their implementation before I can make an opinion on it.

If babies are implemented would you want to play one?

I'm not gonna play a baby.
And I'm wondering how many will try and abuse it to get away with grabbing anything that isn't bolted down, in the knowledge that many wouldn't want to kill a baby, even if just a character.
Cutting down a 20-year old would be no problem, but the baby factor would kick up more dust, with those argueing that killing babies just isn't done, those reasoning that it's a baby, unaware of the concepts of theft, property, laws, reading and so on...

Personally, I have a few chars that might not be too eager to cut down thieving babies, but at least one or two don't really have much trouble with it, to them theft is theft, regardless of who grabs stuff that isn't theirs.
Which might lead to some people ending up with an ooc-grudge against my chars for killing their babies.
Meh... bring it on.... lol

Edit:
I hadn't read the information in the other thread yet to which a link was posted here, when I wrote my bit.
Still haven't read the whole thing, but from some points in the other thread it seems some of my arguments aren't an issue.
But I still wouldn't want to play one.

At first it looked like people willing to play a baby were leading, but now the situation is pretty much even. Maybe there would be a need for Cantrians to develop strategies other than killing to control thieves. I've suggested some things to make it easier to stop/take things from a child character without killing them, like picking up the person and having an inventory that's open to other characters and smaller than that of adults. Besides, playing suicidal babies would be equally punishable as playing suicidal newspawns, and I haven't even seen suicidal newspawns in ages. Would a person really be willing to wait 35 to 55 days just to mess it up and get killed, when they could get a newspawn that's more capable of defending themselves? You're just painting devils on the walls.

I do want to kill some childs. Even if them are not thieves... or their moms must die with them.
Just for population and birth control.
