I'm not so sure. The primary effect of this restriction would be to prevent massacres, but it seems to me that making one-hit kills a possibility would open up whole new problems, like making assasination much more likely.

I'm not saying 1 hit kill possibility no matter what...but smacking a naked guy in the head with a giant warhammer, isn't exacly gonna just lower his health an exact number and not do anyting else....

Heh. If there were some way to make some poison to add to your bow or sabre or whatnot, then maybe a one hit kill would be easier... Hmm... *jumps over to the suggestions forum...* :D

Oh no..that would just make it possible to make massacres MORE likely to occur, not less. Are you working with us or against us here!

With all the energy in theorizing how things don't work, how it might be reprogrammed, and likely about a dozen other unrelated things, this is still in the general discussion forum. Additionally, I can think of many ways you could work to stop these massacres from happening.

To name a few: buildings, sentry shifts, resource monitoring, restricted access to your town, sentries on trails, weapon laws.

I've got that many again still in my head. No fun if I give it all you to. Even if it's unrealistic, it's not an impossible problem. I think it's fun, but that could just be me.

Um... ya, there are ways to prevent some massacres... In addition to all of that you could have a customs building where new arrivals have to drop everything they are carrying and be given 15000 grams of sand or some other resource.

That's a fantastic idea but that would be such a sad town to live in.

Thanks for changing the violence system. This will make things a whole lot better at least what I have seen so far. I will have to see what other changes were made as well. But I just noticed the new changes. And this will help with keeping massacres of whole towns to a mininium at least.

yeah, I experienced the change in the violence system this morning while taking part in.... I'll tell you all about what happened in 4 days.

I won't say what it is just let everyone experience it for themselves.

Honestly speaking, I have to tip my hat to Lad for that one a very very very very very very very long time ago I had a char that spawned at Miron Hills I think, and went to Naron, while there they were told to drop everything they were carrying and be given 15000 grams of resources. I never forgot that... I'm not sure that it was some instutional requirement back then or just some off the cuff quick fix solution to security problems... the certainly didn't have a building for it... I added the customs building Idea just now to prevent theft of the persons stuff by some random person....

Um... I'm not talking about these strategies anymore, this is borderline CR breach, especially since you guys are implementing this stuff now IC... I just thought I would throw a bone to the massacre crazy Cantr locations.

Yes, last night I forced Cosmo to edit the violence system. Without going into details for now, it is more exciting and risky to engage in violence. And also please don't use this as an excuse to engage in violence that would not have happened otherwise.
