Cantr II Discussion Forum

Hi everybody,

As the older players will remember, I was banned from Cantr over a year ago. I recently submitted an application to be let back into the game. I know I upset players both in and out of game, sometimes with illegitimate tactics, and I am sorry to those players especially.

I want to apologize the players of Cantr in general, and especially those who were in any way wronged by me, and would like to hear how you feel.

Personally, I think he's hung around long enough. He's been on IRC forever. He's most likely learned what happens when he doesn't follow the rules. He's probably heard enough of the other things people do wrong that he will try to avoid problems. I'm guissing he cares enough to try and be able to play again, If he is allowed I don't think he stuck around this long just to screw it up again.

I have been here just under one year so I have never been harassed or wronged by you.

Hi, Nick! I hope they let you play again. I miss you on the forums. They aren't very active these days. I blame the IRC or IRA or IBM or something.

Oh and I'm a little... (emphasis on the word 'little' here) bit more well-behaved. Less annoying. I think.

I think I knew one of your carricters actually... it was a wile back... some guy in blaman area i think. me an this guy were trying to set up a government, but then I got ginda sick of cantr, and deleted my secont acount wich i was using becaus i was addicted so much and I'M SORRY!!!

well anyway, he got the sleeping sickness, and I had a heart attack. so much for a government...

Since you brought it public and I wasn't on PD at the time of your banning nor am now - both of us are free to discuss it here so I would like your take on what you did wrong.

With my more military-aligned characters, I would often notify players of characters that worked for them that I needed help with dragging, or stuff like that.

Also, on more than one occasion I have engineered situations where an OOC inspired event was lead to happen in game. Such as finding a believable in game reason for my character and the character of a friend to cooperate.

I am not proud of everything I have done. However, it should be known that I do believe I contributed a lot of positive to the game as well. I of course leave it up to the dedicated people to decide, but I really feel that I should be allowed to play again.

I still miss Adf. Anyhow, there are now two "Royal Adfian Transit" tandems and my character is "Duke Dietrich of Adfia". Adf still lies there inside the outpost. We need to build him a mausoleum but haven't got round to it yet. editted due to too much current ingame information given

I'm not going to announce whether I think you should rejoin the game because certain members of staff might then be just that little bit more likely to decide the opposite. Such is the state of play....

That's amazing.. I hear one of the largest towns I ran at the time, Quillanoi, pretty much died after I left. But you managed to keep Adfia, the self proclaimed kingdom of three lead by a delusional cross-dresser named Adf, going to this day.

And the dragging and stuff led to murdering of characters?

It'd be nice getting another "mastermind" player back int the game.
And a fair one, now, after being banned and acknowledging his wrongs.

cantrlady, the guy straight up apologized, and made it quite clear what he did. Dragging + Millitaristic chars usualy leads to the draggees being killed/murdered/etc. No need to get dramatic about it.

Dylpickle, you speak when you know not what you speak of. And for this very reason, I hate that you've once again brought this to the public, Nick. Getting sympathy votes from people who don't have a clue why you were banned. Not a good move when you're hoping to get back in, imo.

Sure, I wasn't involved, and might enver know EXACTLY what happened. But I don't care.

I'm sympathetic tot his game, and in my opinion, an opinion I know very well, the game needs more players of Nick's style to remain exciting. A cantr character dying isn't like your big brother feeding your favorite barbie doll to your pet doberman. It's a sacrifice to keep the game going. Yeah, I understand that there was cheating involved. Very unfortunate. But that was a long time ago. People change.

I don't know exactly how long he's been banned, but it's been a long time.
I imagine his account was deleted, thereby "murdering" his characters that worked hard on.

That's some good punishment.
So I don't know if it's some pro-death penalty view of yours, or just the fact that you like to hold grudges... But I think a second chance could be prefferable to the game as a whole.

But that's just an opinion of a long time playing 300 post'er. *shrug*
