Fractional Distillation Stack

Why is this only buildable in stone buildings, halls or brick buildings? Seems rather silly to me. :| Does it weigh more than 900,000 grams?

We wanted to restrict it to buildings bigger than huts and not made out of wood.

Why not made out of wood? Is it more prone to burning down the building than a fireplace?

Edit: And does it look something like this? I'm not really sure what it's supposed to look like:

Because they want it for the groups with higher technology. A cheap-cut way to do it.

Nice pic Hermie, and technically correct, but we were envisioning something more like this.

Uhh, my char that would make it, but won't build a building for simply one machine, stays on the cutting edge (it's simply not worth 25kg of stone and 28 days of work since stone is a fair distance and another building, especially stone, just marrs the landscape). There are not many communities in Cantr that can boast being higher-tech, equal, but not higher. How many car radios are built now? I bet mine was amongst the first to make use of that technology. Yea, the char could build a building now, has the stone, but really, not worth it. Doesn't keep with the rustic feel and look to the community that is being preserved, despite the technology level they have. Name a machine and it's there, most likely (except some newer ones or ones not needed for their community). Definitely not low-tech.

Thanks for the pic, wichi. I think that means that the distillation thing should be a building in itself, though. Should require more resources to be like that anyway. There's got to be more than 1kg of aluminium in that picture. Not what I'd imagine seeing in Cantr... :| Don't know what I think of when I think of all those steel and ironworks out there though. lol Guess I'll imagine the one in Cantr to be between those two sizes.

So are pot stills supposed to be smaller versions of it? The pictures I found on them were larger than what I found for the distillation thing, but much smaller than what you showed. They fit in buildings but took up a lot of space.

Will it produce several litres a day then? I haven't checked, but judging from the picture it's a whole factory.

It better produce several thousand litres a day if it's a factory like that! lol

Cantr grams is in no way like normal grams. Stone house 25kg. Longboat 10kg. etc etc

The Fractional Distillation Stack is just as logic as most cantr things, and fine as it is. 8)

If you google "fractional distillation stack" the Cantr Wiki is the first hit. ;)

Is this better? :)

Yup, I did find that out. Google is what I used, and those are the sorts of pictures I kept coming across.. lol

Bounced out of General Support, since there was no support requested, but a lot of general discussion going on. ;)

Sorry but I actually went looking in the Wiki and can't find any of these machines. There's some kind of biodiesel unit, pot stills and this fractional distillation thingy. Myabe more. How do they all tie together? All I want to do is make petrol from oil. How?

Using the fractional distillation stack, combine oil with propane, coke or coal.

So then what are these biodiesel and pot still things for? And don't I have a cheaper way of making petrol from oil?
