Do you think Cantr pages take too long to load?

As asked by Psyman, posted by me.

Well, I have Road Runner and I never a problem with the load times. It might not always be Cantr and most of the time it is probably your service provider.

Game seems OK, but these forum pages, and logging off seem to take forever. Hanging with 1 item left to load, as per the other thread.
I blame Google, but then I blame Google for most things.

Yeah it's got nothing to do with the browser, and unlikely the supplier of the internet. Most likely peak hours etc.

Thanks, N-A.
I voted for "often" - it was "very frequently" at its peak two weeks ago, so I toyed between those two, but the average for the couple of months I've been playing is about "often", maybe slightly over.

Fine with me.

The result looks very close to what is called a "bell curve". In fact if you'd had a "neutral" option exactly in the middle, it would probably have got the most votes. (The reason why it's a bit skewed is that the opposite of "often" is more likely "seldom", if you see what I mean). So, what does that tell us?
As for me it's not so much the load times as an increasing degree of some tedium as projects become more complex. Eg cooking stew rather than just farming potatoes. It often leaves me so little time for interaction, and it's then that I do become impatient with any slight holdup. It would help a lot if we could just specify "load project from inventory" with a single button.

What is sad is that having done my Maths Statistics coursework I could probably answer this, and unfortunatly understand everything you just said (Although when you say bell curve do you mean it has normal distribution?)

To me it says that the often and frequently categories are in fact smaller than the other two, suggesting that people are less frustrated than I would have thought

Hmm, well, nothing conclusive from that I guess. A third of people finding it often taking too long is not good, but half of people effectively ticking the "I don't know" option is not bad...
Anyway, it's really slow again at the moment - no idea if it's me or Cantr - it says it took 0.2 seconds to load the page but it didn't appear for quite a number of minutes... :-S
*sigh* I would still be surprised if it's me since I can see other webpages without issue, but since there isn't a massive surge of other complaints, I guess I'll have to live with it, or leave, and the game will continue happily with/without me...

I have a good conection (2 MB, symetric) since I'm connecting from a University. Today I'm alone in the University (hollydays, but I'm a fool) and I have all the bandwidth for me. Forums, email, other MMORPGs... everything runs ok, never more than 1/2 second. Except Cantr.
What I perceive is that Cantr sometimes is ok for hours, and sometimes it becomes "unstable" for hours, having momentary and irregular periods of awesome latency and normal operation. I find that the hours between 18:00 and 22:00 GMT are very dull.
I guessed it was due to maintenance or implementation tasks (server becoming frozen for some secons). Is this true?

Processes running. It seems slower around the time characters eat and when animals move or whatever they do all at once.

It's always going to be too slow... I want it to be so fast that it actually does it before I click...
It is quite bad in peak hours, but otherwise it could be alot worse.

Yeah, exactly. It's either server-side processes running - especially animals is a big one, as well as probably food and projects - or it's just a lot of users online simultaneously. But the former much more than the latter.
