didnt know if this should go in support or somewhere else so i stuck this here.

now, just for the record, i have not done this yet, and will hopefully not have to do this for a very long time (provided it is allowed of course).

Are your cantierians allowed to be reincarnated after they die (as your new charactor of course) like im playing a deeply religious charactor, and one of the things is reincarnation, now this wont change his belif (that would be cheating) but am i actually allowed to do this once he has died? play him from a newspawn, alot of memory lose (from brain inactivity) and the such.

just a random thought in my head and one i thought should be answered before i think about it to much.

No it would not be allowed. You are not allowed to play events between different characters. It is against the rules to do so. I got in trouble just for making the comment one time with one of my characters that "I will have my revenge in this life or the next!". The PD contacted me and made clear that I did not have the intentions of making a new character to go and get revenge.

So it is against the rules.

The problem was not that he said it. The PD were just making sure to remind him that he couldn't actually do it.

I think there point was that your char is welcome to believe in reincarnation, just as long as you don't intend to actual reincarnate them.

Yes, but it is considered at the very least to be very bad form to bring a real world religion in to Cantr. So while the idea of reincarnation is not forbidden, you should make sure that your religion is not just a poor copy of Buddhism or any other RL religion. Be creative in other aspects to make it unique.

From my experience chars in Cantr only start believeing in reincarnation when they want something to threaten the guard that's chasing them with... :D And yeah a lot of times it does come off sounding like it's an OOC threat instead.

KM17, think of it from the view of your character. In real life we don't see someone being born then claiming they are reincarnated- they only know what they've seen in their lives.

Have you ever heard of the Dalai Lama (or the Panchen Lama)?

Heard of, don't know of.

But I mean in general. And I mean, when it's factual and not just claims.

Woudn't it be allowed if:

Character A spawned in a town and immediately read a note on the floor written by character B (someone who died) stating that they'd return after they've died.

Charcter A could then act and say they were Character B as long as they don't have any memories from Character B's life. (unless they've found out details of things from people/ notes)

Thats just Character A being a con artist.

Assuming you are a different player than the one playing the original, there can be no problem.
If you are the same player, it would be difficult not to use knowledge that you shouldn't have, so probably is against the rules.
There are several books circulating ig, eg the Rangers Tale. There's no problem, I'd have thought, in your char finding one of these and using the information therein to try conning people he is the reincarnation of the author.
