You know, I recently bought civ 4(again, lost the other one) and I read the first paragraph in the book thingy, and i think it compleatly applies to cantr. Here it is (I'm typing this, so beware of typos and other thingys)
Welcome to sid meir's Civilazation 4, the game in witch you match wits against the greatest leaders of all time in a batle of warfare, diplomacy, religion, comerce, and technolagy.
I think we could add othere things, like you try for greatness of your oun, but this is basically it. and continuing.
if you fail you will be destroyed, your empire(substitute empire with your life) just a pathetic and sad footnote in the annals of history. but if you succeed, your glory will live on forever, and you will build a civilasation to stand the test of time.
Civilazation 4 is the latest iteration of sid meier's civilazation, first released in the early 1990's. frome its inception the civilazation series has been acknowleged as the first and best world history simulation, lauded for its incredible depth of play and extrordinary addictive nature.
It's perfect. just change around a few letters, and it describes cantr perfictally.

And plagiarize the original discription?

It is not the best way to advertise, you know...
Sid Meier's Civilization is such a good serie...

So... for the heck of it, why don't we try to get a theme thingy for cantr, becaus I'm bored.
sooo... let's get started.
In there, we do need a refurance to the history, and the annals of the history. and having your life only be a footnote in the annals of history...

But we need to stress the difference. Cantr is not a hack and slash game. It is not to the lovers of that type of game that this one appeals. Many chars are quite happy without violence for much of their lives, despite the impression given by many in these forums.

Welcome to the world of Cantr, a world where killing is not your main goal, but living. In Cantr you will be the village idiot, the island's King, the towns sweetheart, the city's Guard, or what ever your mind creates. In Cantr, living people will remember who you become, and make note of it in the history of Cantr itself. Societies will evolve, they will grow and prosper, and they will fall. Cantr is its own world, with its own rules. Leave your mark, or be forgotten... its up to you.
Sound good enough? I didn't want to copy-cat Civ4, cause I love Sid Mier's work, but its a good basis for ANY RPG or RTS game.

I tried to do something similar when thinking about changes for the front page text, and it wasn't that good - getting Cantr across in a few sentences is difficult...
Anymore suggestions that manage to describe Cantr in a few sentences?

I disagree.
Cantr hasn't technology development, just technology production, but not development.
And religion in Civ has an efective influence, not in Cantr.

......
I disagree with your disagreeing.
Maby it needs a bit of changing to fit cantr perfectly, but it like, describes it greatly.

Guys, the forum is already a threaded system - you don't need to quote the previous three posts to add something to the discussion!
Quoting is rarely necessary - only when you reply to a small part of a long post it's useful.

(whats a threaded system?)

Maybe that's a confusing term - sounds more like a computer program

... But I mean that the discussions are organised in threads: if you post something, it's added to the thread you are replying to ... hence, no need for quoting.

oh.
I just like quoting.
