Give me the beat boys and free my soul...

My account is gone, and in a way it is a relief. A very bittersweet release from cantr. I loved this game, but it was eating away at me and my time, and that just wasn't healthy for me.

I've got a new job, and I'm moving on. I will lurk around the forums, and perhaps on the chat from time to time, but my presence is released from the game world. Perhaps one day I will create another account and cause a little more intrigue and paranoia in the game, but for now I'm going to enjoy other things.

I wish cantr only the best. And everyone on the forums, except for the trolls, are awesome.

It is, but AoM has been around for long enough to know what he is doing :( . I miss the Magister and Lady Pain, and am looking forward to the day that you come back into the fold.

They come back, they all come back...

Hell, even I came back, and I actually had no reason to. Nobody on the forums knew me and I had never made a name for any of my characters.

Meh.... I'm thinking of quitting.... I am definitely going to kill off a large majority of my characters.

That is for certain, but some of my more secured characters will be hard to let go of.

And once I -do- quit I will most certainly not return just because the only reason I still play is because I don't want to stop writing the stories of some of my characters lives because they are half-finished, I wouldn't want to start a whole new book (A metaphor, please don't think that I am actually writing a book about cantr!)

You'll be missed, but I'm not sorry that we lost you to better things. Have fun

It's always nice when people leave because their real lives are progressing. One day, the rest of us will get the hint...

My problem with the game is that it is so time consuming to be an active character, expecially when it seems nobody else is as active as you are. I try to check for like five to ten minutes at a time throughout the day, with a block of time available at night if something major comes up.

dang.

And now it is time for me to write a poem...

O cantr with your lovely green, your smiling face, Growing at such a fast pace.

Living on with players compleatly hooked, living to love, loving to play.

Gone now is the green robust, a sicly form replaces it so. We miss you now, what can we do? oh canter green cantr, I swear to myself, I will love you always, and never leave you, even if it be one, two or more caricters, i will visit and love. For cantr is my game.

and now to quote jhon bacon.. or the guy who said this
A machine is not done when there is nothing left to add, it is done when there is nothing left to take away

Oh cantr grean cantr, I live my life to love. I love to have you beside. Always green. Always smiling. Always will be a part of my life.

There's always a bit of a transition of players around the end of summer, and around christmas time... At least there has been, in my experience. Old players leave, but new players will eventualy come to fill their open resource slots :p

Someone should do a web documentary on the rise and fall of Cantr.

It could be something generations in the making, not released until Cantr's final death in 2107, or it could be complete within a few years, when Cantr becomes a cult game, with not nearly enough people to hold up its dream of being a society simulator.

I'm just glad I was here for the tail end of the golden age.

I think it's far from dead, but as someone said elsewhere, there is far too little social interaction, one of the reasons being that more players are required with chars in any particular location. Perhaps the world's too big... but then you'd have to have fewer chars/player to preserve the CR... So let it go on as it is. I still like it.

Well if just invite people manually. Word of mouth with your friends. Then they will invite people and so on. When I go on XBL I tell all my RPG friends of Cantr.net and how awsome the RP is. Just tell people and the world will grow.

To make the world grow you can even start new chars most people play with one but like me I have 2 1/2 (one's on paper not in game) that would greatly expand the world(at least the English speaking one) Also you could make your own Cantr banners or post links on any other game forum you play.
Just because I'm not paying attention doesnt mean you can yell at me.

It means you should talk quieter.
Seriously shut up, I'm playing here.
