You can't complain about bad RP until you see this:

Postby N-Aldwitch » Sat Aug 05, 2006 11:06 am

One of my characters was been dragged into a room, accused of being a pirate (when he wasn't..) So there's your introduction to this issue. :P
Then, this guy's RP.. oooohh..

It's not horrible, but it's still pretty bad, it's basically telling me to influence all my new newspawn characters NOT to be pirates. I mean, wtf?

1609-5.01: a man in his twenties says: "you see this is what happens when you decide to pirate and steal you throw your life away it truly is sad to see you had to go down this path.Maybe in your next life if you have one you might not make this kind of bad descions any more."

In my next life?

It's the second time it's happened too, some other character who was killing off my character said basically the same thing, telling me in my next life I won't lead revolutions against towns.. wtf?

It is a flame, yeah, but it also gets my anger out.

Has anyone else had any annoyances like this?

Doesn't seem too bad to me. Without the context of the other char's religion I can't make a judgment, but, if it's in public, it's a warning to others who might be tempted.

It's not that bad, I had a character who believed we were all reincarnated, though we couldn't remember anything from the past life. Though he lost that belief as he got older.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Well, look at that! Two posts containing exactly the same thing! You certainly don't see that every day.

I doubt it was intended to have an OOC effect. Authority figures use that kind of phrasing all the time in real life.

So, what's the fuss? :? I know several people who occasionally reference "next life" in conversation and they've never heard of Cantr. Come to think of it, they aren't Buddhists either, as far as I know.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think it's that bad. I used to have a character that was a priest. He said something similar to this to a murderer.

Fact is, if he hadn't said that, it wouldn't be like his character. People would have expected him to say something like that.

Now, if this character said "maybe your next newspawn (or character) won't make such bad decisions"

...that would be significantly worse.

Yeah, well it's either really really bad RP if he means it a certain way, or nothing wrong with it at all which is the view you guys are taking I think.

But I thought he was suggesting that next time I make a character, I should not make him a pirate.
He is also of no religion, trust me. And he is yet to actually * do something * between the asterixes. :P
Just doing something to vent my anger. :D

I tell my close friends to punch me when they need to vent.

I suppose it could be bad RP. I won't judge. I wasn't there.

Hell, to me it's just the promise that you're not going to have long in your current life, and so maybe want to invest in your next...

One of the Characters I am currently with talks alot about reincarnation, somewhat annoyed that all the names for his different gods are eygtian gods. But the idea of reincarnation is present in Cantr.
What if?
