I really don't like this new slot lockup rule

Though many of the slots I have locked up on my account were deserving of it, I have recently had a character killed because of his actions, and not at all because he was suicidal. I also just had a character who has been trapped and is being slowly killed. Both of these characters are going to have there slots locked for fourty days, and not because they are suicidal at all. Hell the second character I was talking about just made the mistake of trusting an older man. The older man tricked him into a building, and is now going to kill him.
Anyone else have similar problems?

No. I don't absolutely have to have 15 or 14 or whatever number of characters--I'm fine with just having a few right now. Just play the ones you have instead of complaining that you can't immediately create new ones. It's not the end of the world if you have less than 15 characters. And if you have so many slots locked that you have very few characters, maybe you shouldn't have done whatever it was you did:

I'll agree with that. And from my own observations it seems to have cut down the number of suicidal newspawns.

There is no question the rule accomplished it's goal, but what about those people who just get unlucky and get a couple of there characters killed? Now I'm already on a tight leash, because some of my characters have already been locked up, but these cases are legitimate. I wanted to get rid of em. I admit it! But those who you don't expect to get killed that do...well I just don't think they should be locked up. It is a flaw in the rule, but I do agree that the rule should be in place. I just wish there was some way to fix the problem.

Why do you have to make more characters? What's wrong with the ones you've got?

Who me? Nothing is wrong with the current characters I have. I just might want to make more some time, and it would be nice if I could right away.

I've yet to see any evidence of this at all. Maybe my chars are just in the wrong locations, but I rarely see suicidal newspawns and hadn't seen one for months at the time the rule was implemented. I don't think it's necessarily cut down anything very much, though I'm not saying it hasn't helped at all. *shrugs*

Patience is virtue. It might be nice, but rarely can we find instant gratification very often in life.

You agree that the 40-day rule is a good thing, but you don't like how it restricts you. What do you want? There aren't any ideas floating around that might solve your problem, so you'll have to come up with one yourself.

Hey, I kinda feel for him now...
I spawned in a desert. No one moved at all so I had to walk away. Get to the next town half starved and still no food. Still no idea where he is going. Most likely getting that slot locked because of this.

Well I think it's helped. I hav a few chars in towns that seemed to get them every other day, but I've only seens a couple lately, and none of them were the blatant 'Ahhhhhhhh! I'm crazy somebody kill me! *punch punch punch*' kind.

Question: are we reducing suicidal newspawns or driving more people from the game?
Reminds me of a cartoon I once saw. Scene is customer service counter. Service clerk facing consumer. Consumer: "this television flickers". Clerk looks at consumer. Next frame. Clerk pulls out huge sledgehammer and begins smashing TV. Two frames showing clerk smashing TV into increasingly small pieces watched by increasingly terrified consumer. Clerk pushes back mangled bits and pieces with laconic words: "It won't flicker now".
Is that the fate of Cantr?

I see your point, but I can't think that rule would cause it. I'm sure it is the established players who have abused things this way. A new player won't know enough to do it, and would simply give up.

I got down to four charries, I decided to create three new ones...
I wish I had just stuck with four...
I don't understand people who can keep 15 going...

I never had any problems of maintaining 15 chars. I somethimes get bored of the low activity. But the risk of having so much charries are that they somewhat blends into eachother. And haven't got any locked spaces since the rule were activated.
