Maybe I'm being daft, but I've been looking for a sort of updated "Game Changes" list, and not finding one. O_o
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19795&start=150 is a good listing, but isn't mentioning the recent Honey/Still changes, (yet?) . That looks more like a place for community response to changes. Particularly regarding the honey change, I see it discussed, but not actually "What Changed" in a formal-ish-looking post.

Lets not consider the wiki. 8) http://wiki.cantr.net/index.php/Recent_changes_in_Cantr

More importantly to me, there was some other "game announcement" that shows above the character list recently, which in my over-sleepy playing ignored and Removed, without actually, you know, reading it, before closing the game, figuring "I will look in the morning, not when dead in bed, on mobile with tiny text"...and of course can'tcan't read/find it now. :P

Is there a place these are archived? Should there be?
Thanks!

Following the recent honey corrections, the Resources Department is working on a larger initiative with foods -many of which have not been reviewed in years, looking to make more sense of production and to fit in with the current game state. This may include adjustments to healing and nutrition values, as well as increases to input and fuels. Most of these changes will be relatively minor and will not be announced individually.

More significant changes to a few foods will take place, in particular a simplification of pasta recipes to align them with other foods regarding tools and ingredients. Some of those recipes will be re-assigned to different machines. Overall these changes will make the recipes more accessible to more characters. We also plan some changes to the harvested vegetables, potatoes and carrots, and especially to rice, making them less nutritious in their raw forms. The objective of this particular realignment is to encourage cooking, and for that end, new simple recipes as well as some more complex ones will be added, also including some underused ingredients. We will try to keep the wiki up to date as with all changes.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Possibly? If that's the one that was showing in-game I [Removed] before actually reading, then yes. I can not confirm or deny it though, not having actually read it. Are they listed somewhere? That's my main question. :)

Edit: Quite possibly that one, since it explains the "Brace yourself: Food changes are coming" meme above here, which didn't make sense to me either. :P

That would be the most recent one. It would be nice to have the announcements posted in the forum again (I think they used to be) as well as in the game, because sometimes I just want to check my characters and not read/scroll past an announcement on a tiny screen. Or maybe make them where you can collapse them until you're ready to read them.

We just need to be patient and understanding, as players this is what we need to do or know. :)

It may not be quite what you're after, but if you do remove an announcement before reading it, you should be able to find it at the top of your most recent logs? Or, at least, they show up on mine...

AHA! yes, it is there, Never noticed that before!

I still think "Archive of Announcements" would be lovely to have somewhere. :P

I am happy to be patient and understanding, but it is important to have announcements somewhere that they don't disappear (aside from turn reports), and there is a sticky thread ready for a simple copy/paste. So bringing up that need to post them in the forums is a good thing. Especially when it is about big game changes that are coming. :)

I was being little sarcastic. Personally I'd prefer to be asked before bracing myself about the changes.

Do you find the potential changes disagreeable or simply wish the community had been consulted? I assume staff knows what the changes could be or what's under discussion amoungst staff.

I don't have a problem with the changes. I'm just saying I think being more informative would be better for the players. I'm looking from a common perspective and considering myself as a newer player. I don't check staff forum so often, I guess I need to do that.

If the community was consulted before every change, nothing would never get done.

Honey has turned pretty useless as it is now. One day of labour makes it possible to heal about 3% of damage, while for example by collecting onions you get 19% per day. Imho it's pretty unbalanced since you need a separate machine which is used -only- for collecting honey.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. He is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

I don't disagree that at least onions need to be "nerfed" or reduced in power, but so that we are debating with the facts at hand, I think it's worth mentioning that:
  1. the untooled rate of onion gathering is around 9% healing per day
  2. the project ends in a random amount (you could get 7%)
  3. it's only available in limited places (just 5% of locations on Treefeather)

On the other hand,
  1. honey is actually 3.6% per day
  2. it is a guaranteed amount (no project randomness / variance)
  3. importantly can be built anywhere

These points are hard to quantify into a per-day rate but coming back to my first point, I think onions need to have their healing per day reduced.

I really like the changes.
