That's a nice de-cantr I see in your avatar! Seriously though, it's a lovely looking wine. Welcome. (Are you related to the Vigneron?)
Reveal to me the mysteries
Can you tell me what it means?
Explain these motions and metaphors
Unlock these secrets in me
Describe the vision, the meaning is missing
Won't anybody listen?

Snickie: Your sig (which hypnotized me for about 12 minutes the first time I saw it) sums things up nicely. Thanks for the welcome... and from you, Addicted. Nope, I'm not related to Vigneron, or anyone else you know... at least not from Cantr/boards. Kickass pun, btw.

One week new and hopelessly addicted. Thanks to everyone I've met in game so far, and everyone responsible for this game and board in general! I'm oldschool p&d rp-er (when I say oldschool, I mean my first anime was Battle of the Planets, ok?) now Cantring it up to the hilts, and loving it. Thanks again.
You iz a young whippersnapper. I remember Battle of the Planets from college. Never much cared for it (my roommates were more "Star Blazers" fans). My first anime were 8th Man, Marine Boy, Astro boy, Gigantor, and the like. I first played D&D in 1976 (btw, can I assume that "P&D" means "paper and dice"? Never saw that abbreviation), and ran one campaign that lasted over 7 years. (I stopped playing the franchise in the early 90s when I got married (never went past AD&Dv2.0), except for a brief stint when my eldest was in his teens).

Re: Welcome, New Players! (or Welcome Back, Old Players!)
Thanks for that, gejyspa! Starblazers didn't air locally until around 83', and everyone had quit running Astroboy with most of the other black and white cartoons, except a random funny or two in the normal wb/terrytoons/fleischman(sp) lineup. Mazinger never made it here, except for the toys (but wow, what great toys!) So there was a bit of a gap until our local vhf broadcaster picked up Robotech four or five years later. Like you, I never played AD&D past the 2nd ed, though I am just barely old enough to remember when the expert D&D box set was launched... around the time your roomies were watching Captain Avatar bringing home the cosmo DNA, if they watched as well-milked a syndication of it as was played her, years later.. In the interim, of course, were the American cartoons with Japanese animators on staff. And Voltron 1 and 2. And those wierd religious anime, like flying house and Sebastian the Crow.

Flying House was my first anime! And Superbook! Pretty sure they were reruns though... I almost forgot about those. I am a young whippersnapper, and a sheltered one at that.
*goes to try to download episodes of FH and SB*

Well, it's has certainly been a while, but the day has finally come in which I can once again peer into the green screen goodness that is Cantr!
