As a resource runner who supplies a mountain community, I have already found myself (in the Seatown area) unable to gather food at all.

Sounds like a good basis for trade negotiations to me ;) ... You can refuse the export of limestone to Seatown, for example ... This will force Seatown to produce more food to be able to support their import of limestone, which will force them to get food from outside Seatown ... in other words, in my opinion this change should lead to more international trade. So far, Seatown could always produce enough food, because there was an unlimited supply given enough people - now there is a limit, creating more interesting economic situations. I don't think this will lead to the starvation of Akypor. It's still an important source of goods for other towns - otherwise Akypor would never have grown this big, as it is far from any original spawning location.

I haven't read every post...but has anyone experienced this yet?

This combined with Skills, means that a town should assign the best gatherers to gather, and make sure no novices are doing it...or maybe just a couple young novices...to let the next generation learn.
I think, therefore I think I am, I think

No, because skills haven't been implemented for every resource yet.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

Well I can't figure out is this necessary to manually participate in project after creating it (by clicking 'P' icon). Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

An idea I have is:
- when location's gathers number acheived maximum allowed, after creating new one you have to participate in it by clicking apropriate icon,
- when there are 'free slots' participating in new project is started automaticaly.

Well, I have noticed that. And if it is that limit, then there no limit at all. So, anyone can explain this :?: But I noticed, that when it works like that, it work in all locations or in none, so I think it is not that. I also saw one character once, which said that he can't really participate in any project, even after clicking on "P" icon. But personaly I have not noticed that. Is there any error message or something when there is no free slot? How it works?

Yes, that is how it is implemented. If that doesn't work, it's a bug.

And of course, the P button also checks whether the maximum was reached.

Often it doesn't engage on the project even if there's room for working.

So you go to the activities page and click it manually. *shrugs*

And if you want to test your skills for all the resources in the location? And have to go to the activities page every time. Not to mention you gotta go back there to cancel the project too. Or is that against the rules?

I still never encountered a situation where I couldn't gather any resources because there was no room - not even in big cities like Siom or Blojt .... Have others? Or is something really wrong? :)

The fact that sometimes you don't join immediately, but you can still join manually, suggests that something might be wrong when you just join manually ...

I have never had a problem with gathering, even though it seems that the larger places, I do have to join my project manually.

In several instances, I have been able to create a project but not automatically begin gathering the carrots/potatoes/cotton etc I was trying to. However, I could go to activities and add myself to my own project.

The problem with this is that while for most extra clicks mean nothing, for someone who might have dial-up, this can make it that much more difficult.

The extra clicks should not be necessary ... this simply means there is a bug and you can join projects passed the limit ...

I have had to do this with almost every gathering or farming project (go to activities to start working) and have been accepted every time. I have not once gotten the message that there were already too many people gathering that resource so I think it must not be working correctly.
