That aside, Laserboy has got to be a kid, because regardless of views on the issue, most people aren't so openly offensive to another person, having no regard for what they say... well maybe some... and this _is_ the internet... the protection of anonymity and not being next to the person and all that.... then again I know some adults whom might be so tactless too.

How sad that such intolerant, closed-minded and immature people still exist. I do have a hard time believing that you're any older than 13 however...laserboy!
Ah well, i guess you're entitled to whatever opinions you may have.

Being open about your viewpoint and having a lack of civility are two different things. You can say that you don't agree with someone in a civil manner and just as easily voice your opinion. There is no point to being open about opinions if we are not also tolerant of others opinion. I disagree with many people here on a great many things that are of much more importance to the world than sexual preference, yet I try not to call them idiots and brutes. There are people here that probably have less and some more knowledge than me about international relations, but I don't call them stupid, they just have different life experiences to bring to the table, which is a good thing. These issues always get dragged out in election years to draw people away from real socio-economic problems and international issues.
.... and age has little to do with maturity, there are many people with the menal age of 16 that are 40... namely some of my brothers...

This is the first time I've seen a coversation like this in a long time. I've had several gay friends, men and women, and one of my best friends is an old girlfriend that decided she was gay a couple years ago. I say decided, because I believe that it is a perssonal lifestyle choice, it's against the laws of human biology for someone to be born gay.

Are you sure you aren't the reason she decided to be gay?

No offense Jerry but Im not gay and I think thats a tad ignorant.
There are gay seagulls, and bears and such, I think its just naeive to think that ppl choose to be gay. Noone wants to be isolated from the world like that.
