*looks at the ground and kicks a rock* Sorry..I just hate swearing.

I'm intrigued - which ones?

*slaps Psymann*

Oh, and by the way, its not just that I don't use swearing, I don't use any bad words at all. I don't replace them. There's a lot of words that annoy me, but swearing the most.

No, honestly, I recently had a msn messenger chat with two people from war of empires about the meaning of swear words - one from The Netherlands, one from Singapore. Neither were aware of the original/proper meaning of "bugger", it turned out. Both thought it just meant "a silly/useless person".

And both had to go and look up the meaning of "smeg" (a word familiar to Red Dwarf fans but probably not heard of otherwise), which turned out to be the 180th most popular word search on one of the dictionary sites we looked at.

I am honestly interested to hear if there are any swear words (other than ones made up by cantrian characters) that really do have no meaning. Are there any?

You shouldn't slap Psymann, he actually brought up a reasonable point. I assume that Nalaris inteded to say "definition" rather then "meaning". Some words may only have one definition, but they still mean something different to each different person. The only words that only have one meaning, are words that are known to only a single person (and since words are constructs for conveying information, those words are utterly pointless). Since we were talking of the word "cunt" before, let us continue on that. Its definition refers only to the female genitalia, but its meaning can vary from the afore mentioned genitalia, to a derogatory name, to a friendly greeting between friends.

I just did that because I don't think Nalaris would want to say the swear words.
