A few that have once or twice. After that I figure they have done it and if the other char doesnt make an attempt I figure they arent all that into that part of the game and thats ok with me.

One that once lived for a certain someone to touch her, she cared about nothing else and would do anything to get him to "play" with her...bastard died.

One that only has sex with some woman he hates. Dont ask, its hard to explain.

Another that had a "normal" sex life but is so miserable right now she has to remember just to breath.

And a whole bunch that will never have mates because some I think should just be free to do whatever the hell they want.

Hey. I've got a question for you. What is the official age requirements for Cantr? Would it be morally ok to roleplay sex in-game? Sexual abuse? Prostitutes? Slavery? Cursing? Torture? I haven't seen anything like this in my 3 cantr attempts (during 5 year span), but I think it would really enriching

Does that means - pardon mentioning such - rape could be qualified as a "dubiously reprehensible"* action in-game?

*: That means not strictly prohibited but punishable by ad hoc penalties.

Some people have the border between "liberty" and "libertine" messed up and think that Cantr is a sort of sexchat. I'm asking to know if such behaviour can be reported to the PD so that they can convince that player to knock it off.

I think the rule of thumb is that if it disturbs the reader then it must stop. I think it could be continued in a non-sexually explicit style of writing like *X continues having sex with Y despite the nauseous look on Z's face* if it would be out of character for the people involved to stop but going into details could be taken as sexual harassment of the reluctant reader.

Diavel, if you haven't seen any of those things in the game then your characters must've either lived very sheltered lives or very short lives. My characters have probably been in either giving or receiving end of all the things on the list, although torture might be difficult to define, and heard of things happening to others as well. They might be rare or swept under the carpet because many characters get spawned with a built-in ethics inherited from real life. There's no age limit for Cantr and even if there was, it couldn't be enforced without requiring people to have a credit card and that would rule out a huge bunch of players who can't have or don't want one. But it's possible to contact support to check if a character's player is of legal age (according to the year of birth they provided when registering).

Regarding explicit sexual situations, the age of consent laws apply. Ignorance is not bliss in this situation as it falls under the responsibility of the one initiating the action to confirm that it is legally acceptable.

The morals of RPing such events are for you to personally decide. As for whether or not it happens, I can assure you, it does.

What this means is this:

is more preferable than
*<playername> pulls down his pants, grabs his **** and slaps <playername> across the face with it*


The difference is the graphical nature of the two. In areas that are open to those that do not need to be, or do not wish to be, exposed to such, it should be common sense to keep from being overly graphic.

That's what I wanted to know. if there is no age limit then I better be careful with those things. I don't want some 13 year old boy sitting in his room with his mother looking at computer screen from behind reading about my (characters') sexual fantasies. It hasn't been important part of my characters' lives anyway (4 days rule... ) so that's not a big problem. Just wanted to clear things up.

Pd will normally run an age check if you ask. Granted the person behind the acct could be lying about their age but at least you've checked with staff and done what was in your power to make sure that player was an adult. I think they'll still do so if that becomes a concern.

Both examples seem to involve autohitting. It would be better to either say <charactername> pulls down his pants and attempts to slap <target> with his male thing, which would give the other person a chance to dodge.

I saw a funny bit of rp in FTO the other day that involved public nudity and a father accidentally bonking his adult daughter in the forehead with his "manhood" but it was all written in a tasteful manner. Then again, FTO has a "you must be 18 or over" clause in their terms and conditions, even though they don't require any actual age verification. I was just thinking if something like that happened in Cantr, somebody would surely get upset over it.

If any activity occurs with my chars that could be considered sexual or a pretense of sexual content, I will inform that char's player right there in the game (in a whisper, though) that I'm a minor. Had to do that once already, actually, about four or five days ago.

I guess I can say I don't have the problem of worrying whether the other char's player is over eighteen or not because I'm not eighteen myself. I'm not afraid to ask, though, or inform anyone of this fact. There's no reason for me to lie about it. Nobody'll ever have to do an age check with me! Unless they're too scared to ask my age or something. Obviously now I'm referring to my more unknown characters; for example, I doubt many people know that I have a char in the Hofran province (of course they know now because I just said it). But I digress.

You're completely right though, although I think that a little godmoding is permissable to not draw out a scene too much.
