Cults! didn't even think of that. I guess you got me there, but still that doesn't stray the point that early religion was just a way to explain things that couldn't be explained. It's hard to not beleive in evolution now-a-days. I'm more of a God created the Universe then sat back and watched the fun kind of guy.

What do you mean it's hard NOT to believe in evolution?
Darwinian evolution leaves a lot to be desired; it's amazing that in a society where scientific 'facts' are so frequently replaced with better ones that this flawed theory is still accepted with an almost blind devotion by so many people.
Personally, I believe in micro-evolution; I'd be a damn' fool not to.
But I personally feel it takes a lot MORE faith to believe that everything we see around us was randomly evolved from primordial ooze than it does to believe that some intelligent design was involved in the process somewhere.
So I'm not a blindly ignorant creationist, but I'm also not a diehard Darwinist. I think both leave something to be desired.

Gods conveintly choose to not leave any evidence of themselves to inspire faith.
However just like in Cantr you can see that there was a higer power behind it becuase of the quirkiness of it.
Most elements and compounds shrink when frozen. But not ice. It expands and floats. Ice isn't the only compound that does this but if this "bug" didn't exist ice would sink to the bottom of the seas and oceans and over time only the topmost layer of the ice would melt in the summer which would be a drastic change. So this "ice bug" is a feature and with a little faith you might belive that it is part of a design.

Should boats get slower the older they are? Barnicles and muscles that require a trowel to remove?

Thinking completely one way is dangerous in my opinion. You can't rule anything out when dealing with something unknown, but I doubt people just appeared on the Earth one day because this one guy felt like starting a 6 day project. On the other hand the Choas Theory (I beleive is what it is called, don't have much experience with the topic) is scary to me also. The idea that all life and everything we know just happens and that everything we base civilization on is one big coincidence. Especially Math. Math is one thing that impresses me and always makes me doubt the idea that there wasn't a higher being. How could a system work so well inside itself?
Except fractions...
1/3=.33333333...
2/3=.66666666...
3/3=.99999999...? (Division is flawed)
But I think there was a reason for it? I don't think any of my teachers ever told me but I stumbled upon it one day. Maybe someone can refresh me. Because that is something I'm constantly thinking about.

First off, .9 repeating equals 1. Proof:
Let x= .9 repeating
10x = 9.9 repeating
10x - x = 9
9x = 9
x = 1
.9 repeating = 1
QED
Secondly, you can point out all the coincidences that led to possibility of life on earth as proof of a god, but life is not unlikely at all. There are billions of stars in billions of galaxies and even possibly a boundless number of universes. In all those chances it's highly probable that some will have the right conditions for life. There are many more that don't. Obviously the only places where there are sentient beings to question all this is where the conditions were right. From the macroscopic viewpoint, there's certainly room for a god, but the idea of one becomes very vague and there's also the equally good possibility that there isn't one. Basically from the position each of us are in where we know essentially nothing, we don't have ther information needed to make that sort of judgement. The probability of there being a god similar to any specific description ever proposed is aproximately equal to the chance of me actually being a large 5 dimensional flan and all of you mutant squirrels. It's all possible, so speculation is a bit silly.

I would suggest that you all read Issac Newton's "The General Scholium". Great work. Considered his greatest though it is overlooked these days because he is consider the 'father of physics' so his works on physics are examined more often then his other 'works'. Some people do claim he was insane at the time but they always claim that of another person when they don't agree with that person.
