Not since I'm here now.
I'm a total fantasy fan. "The reign of Galbatorix" I want to live long, just let real life take care of it. Or we better get a good reward.
Can your characters die from inactivity? Or can you put them with a bunch of food for two years? Cuz I have to go on a mission a little more than six years from now and I want to live long.

I disagree that age doesn’t serve a purpose without death.
Age does serve a purpose, it allow Cantrians to prejudge. The only things Cantrians can have any prejudices about are age, clothing, weapons, and gender. From in game experience, gender and clothing doesn't matter very much when it comes to a persons respectability and authority, age does.
Although prejudice is usually used in a negative way nowadays, it has been part of our society for as long as we've had a history. both in positive and negative views. Why shouldn't it be a part of Cantr? Why should we hard code out the ages to make it impossible to have age discrimination just because that sort of thing is looked down on in RL? Grouping people together and making assumptions about them based on what you know of others in that group is a much safer way of picking out potential thieves and psycho hitters than not passing judgment until they left a dent in your shield and left town with all the notes.
Why do we need to hardcode away a powerful indicator to base IC prejudices off of because you as a player disagree with the use of prejudice? I have no problem if the characters decide not to judge based on age, but I don’t think it should be forced upon them by making ages invisible (or by having people respawn at 20 when they die). I personally think it adds an extra touch of realism.
I agree that older chars should get weaker though.
My stance on dying of old age is, starting in the 70ish range chars slowly start to get weaker, skills lower, etc. Then they die at a random age after 90, but not some just a random age within some range selected when they hit 90...
It might be to complex but I think when they turn 90 they have a 5% chance of dying the day they turn 91. At 91 a 10% chance of dying at 92. At 92 a 15% chance of death at 93 etc. until it reaches 50% (99 years old) where every spawn anaversery after that is a 50/50 chance of death. This would allow for there to be some medicine that will cut the likelihood of death in half if you take it, or something similar for those that want to live as long as possible. I used a year in advance so that there can be a warning for the player, like Lumin said. Surprise early deaths are already common enough so I say none of that.
As for those characters that players grow attached to, invest so much time into, and what-not, I can see that argument against killing them. But if we don’t kill off the old chars, then those people might never create new ones and see the world from a new view. If that would end the enjoyment of the game for anyone, then they might be taking Cantr a little to seriously. It is a game and a society simulator after all, and I think in both cases, death from old age is a good idea.

I agree with you then. My original point was that if we aint aging to have dieing of old age we should at least have frailty in old age, so that age is more than just a statistic which provokes a ridiculous prejudice which is degrading cantr.

Emphasis mine. Because I'd like to hear how you came to those conclusions.
(Come on, you can't go around making hyperbolic statements like that and then be surprised when someone asks you to back them up...)
The only trouble I see with the prejudice is that many times it carries over from char to char without getting established in character. That kinda stinks because it makes it universal throughout Cantr, and that is both degrading for Cantr and ridiculous. I mean, where are the different cultures in Cantr? We need some town that makes the youngest person the king, that would be neat, probably an utter failure, but neat.

Well, what I care about is that there can be a way to live forever, even if its hard. Not just cutting the chance in half though. Maybe we get more easily tired or we have a lower limit to how tired we can be. By the way, can someone die from being too tired? Not just from attacking a bunch of people though. I want to live long, I still think 90 is too young. Should we not be encouraged to have an old character? Like in real life?
So according to what Jos said: Is there really no age limit yet?

I did. Most of your posts seemed more about you being pissed off at the world in general and Stan in particular than the subject at hand.
Granted, you did say a few things that were on-topic, but they were phrased belligerently enough that after the first couple of lines I chose to skim past them so I could get to interesting parts of the discussion again.
There are angry white guys everywhere on the internet...sorry but most of the time their antics just aren't enough to hold my attention anymore.

Wow, and you say I get too mad about stuff on forums!
