I think so... that's my guess.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

Well, most of the players agree with him... I for one.

How come praise can have this incredibly humbling affect? It’s supposed to work in opposite direction, isn’t it? *shrugs *

Well, I ‘ve gotta thank you and Jur for your Sterling efforts, Jos. And especially for the time you’ve both put in, just lately, to reassuring us all that you’re listening. I know you don’t have time for this, strictly speaking. You've already got your hands full with programming the game and living your life (as I’ve frequently reminded myself, in the past) but, hey, it really does make the world of difference to morale.

Is it just me or is the game slightly tilted towards the later at the moment?

Hmmm…I dunno. My most major character (the one who drains all my time )is very much concerned with all the former. That’s surely what this game is about, for me. And yet, isn’t society built out of lots of little people all living their own little dreams? I don’t see that you can separate those issues, and I’m not sure at all that it’s skewed towards the latter (I’ve also heard it said on this forum that communism flourishes in Cantr to a greater extent than it does IRL. Or have I misgrasped the point? It’s pretty late at night here in Britain)

One perennially frustrating feature of Cantr is that co-operation just isn’t possible, not in the same way it’s practiced IRL. When it takes all day (and no longer than that if you’re lucky) to execute something as basic as “Pass me that hammer”…well, our characters inevitably end up acting much more independently than we usually would, IRL.. It’s just that it too often turns out to be very much easier to do it all yourself. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t all work in our individual fashion towards realising common goals. Working with that difficulty , rather than against it, I reckon we can throw up some quite interesting social structures. Self-direction doesn’t have to mean self-sufficiency, nor selfishness. Maybe Cantr, in its small way, can help to demonstrate that (ummm…alright, yeah, I admit it. We’re getting close to one of my most cherished ideals here, and this where I start taking it way too seriously)but it all takes time to develop ,of course; and in meantime it’s even more clearlyand obviosly true of Cantr than it is of the real world that an individual problem multiplied by n becomes a social problem. If Jack can’t hack it it, then a townful of Jacks can’t hack it either, so we’re apt to express our social concerns in more individual terms

Am I making sense? ( I mean, side from the fact that this is the entirely the wrong thread for this argument. And aside from the fact that I probably misgrasped the point in the first place. I really ought to be going to bed)

PS. Oh, by the way, no way can an individual in Cantr build their own little car. at least not without a factory full of slaves underneath him. How individual is that? :? )

Seems pretty reasonable to me.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

Jur, or whoever is working on boat warps. Please see Black Canyon's post on this page.

Her part about boat warps was misinformed, and rather irrelevant.
Unless you meant they should look at that topic, for some other reason. Indeed, all of the other points are quite valid. But not that one, unfortunately.

I'd like them to look at her list of complaints about the boat problems. She includes everything I can think of.

I remember several people saying their dinghy warped after undocking so I don't see why you think this is impossible, Nick.

They're already aware of warping issues. By linking to that topic I was assuming you were trying to make them aware of the "dangers" she presented with boat warping and pirating.
Which simply, are not feasible.

I'm wondering if the programmers remember the overwhelming agreement that we would like a break from the changes.
