Thanks for fixing the values on the Smelting Furnace. I never noticed they were skewed. It IS nice to produce more iron with propane now! :)

However, to raise a point: I've been producing propane, iron, and steel in one of those densely inhabitted areas for a while, and frankly, propane needs/needed no increase. Through the extraordinary benefit of gas-valves, propane is frankly the bee's knees.

And for someone tied to an area (or two) without resource-runners or allies in coal-areas, I can trade for the sporadic coal required to run my smelting operations, and stretch the supply out nearly indefinately by using that coal with gas (an abundant local resource) to produce propane. Not to mention the benefit of keeping a close (and constant) eye on 3 seperate resource paths, necessitating only the hastle of importing one resource for my entire production (since coal is made a non-issue by propane).

And now that there's gas ovens! w00t!

If you've been doing it for a while, you'd know that it was merely a restoration of the original value.

And no matter what you say, there is no way to make propane-iron production more efficient than coal-iron production. The figures don't lie...

*shrugs* It's GD, not GS Anthony. If someone wants a discussion, I'm happy to give it to them... it's not like the thread actually needs locking...

Besides, I can always unlock it again... :P

...Damn, you have a good point.

This is general discussion.

Man, we need a forum for "General Debates" >.>

(And my locking was a bluff, I have no moderation over GD :P)

well, not with propane producing 50g/day.
But now that propane produces 75g/day it's no contest in favor of propane.

Even assuming the 50g/day value for propane (and as a resident of an area where propane was natural and coal wasn't and I couldn't benefit directly fomr the accelerated production-rates of coal with machines, since I'd be trading for it) the numbers were competitive, since I would get the benefit of a gas valve, and wouldn't be at the mercy of traders for my coal.

It was frankly, a pretty good deal for me. And now it's only more so.

Anthony has fixed propane. Remember, coal comes straight out of the ground, whereas propane needs more initiative, more startup capital and a bigger and more cooperative enterprise. So the result matches expectations.

Well, one out of three, anyway...

Maybe 2 out of 3. I don't think I know what initiative would mean. Always just seemed like a buzzword...
