Huh, I didn't realize it was so common IRL. If I ever got hail in summer here I'd consider it a pretty definite sign of the impending Apocalypse.

Can someone point me toward some post that explains how healing foods work now? I understand the stomach limit. What I don't get is how much healing you get immediately, and how much over time, and when exactly, and how do healing foods differ in those respects. Thanks.

I believe healing foods still work immediately.

Healing food does work immediately, and the stomach capacity is 4000 grams, which I just learned from the wiki. Unfortunately the page on natural healing hasn't been written yet, and I don't know how much natural healing is, but it's once every day. However, I found a thread suggesting it be raised to 1% every day, so it's currently less than that.

If healing foods work immediately, is it possible to eat 4000g of things, heal instantly, vomit, then eat another 4000g to continue healing?

Not completely true. There is an immediate effect, up to some ceiling - what exactly I don't know. And then the rest kicks in later; I think it is when the eating tick occurs once per day.

Have you looked at the wiki to get an idea how much % each resource heals per gram? That may be what you're referring to.

That's a good question.
Someone should shoot my char once with a crossbow, then watch the healing effects with grass and sugar and vomit.

The effect is up to full health or stomach capacity, whichever comes first. If my character takes 5% damage from a mouflon attack and then drinks a kilo of brandy, well obviously that's more than s/he needs to heal given brandy heals 1% per 11g. The rest is stored in the stomach until the eating tick, during which s/he will purge whatever is needed to heal any damage s/he might acquire between immediate healing and the eating tick, and whatever is not purged remains until either s/he vomits or takes damage and eats again (nasty mouflons! lol).

No. That may be true at low levels of damage. You talk about 5%. That is below the ceiling for the immediate effect.

If it is any help, my character was recently able to heal himself 65% damage by eating a fair amount of honey. The healing effect was immediate.

I believe there are 3 methods of healing now.

Immediate: you actively click on the little bread button and eat healing food. This applies healing when you have damage already. If not, it goes into "storage". As for how much you can eat, that would be limited to your stomach capacity. I don't know if vomiting enables you to heal more after you've reached the capacity.

Storage: you can keep healing food in your stomach. The only way to get rid of it is to vomit or take some damage that you don't heal through "immediate" means. If you don't manually heal, then at some point (I think at the eating tick) that stored healing food is used. I've never tested it so I don't know how much of it gets used - a % or if it uses it all until the char is fully healed.

Natural: If you have nothing stored and don't heal immediately, then your char will heal a very small % each day.

Feel free to correct/add/edit if any of this is wrong.

I also just recently saw and did this with a large amount of damage. The only limit for immediate healing seemed to be the storage capacity, though it's hard to say for sure.
