I play -alot- of oposite gender characters. I play 8 male and 7 female, and with that mix I have found one thing. Females -always- gain position, power, and friends within a town faster, but it tends to be the males that get the most power overall.

Strange but true

Anyway, I'm just trying to say that I would make a good kid of any gender :)

It's hard to imagine someone like nitefyre or Maelstrom playing little girls.

"Why, of course Maelstrom! Sugar and spice and everything nice!"

I'm picturing Buzz Lightyear at the tea party for some reason...

Since I have a young daughter, I could likely be inspired.

...you do not want my daughter as your Cantr child when she's in full form, though, trust me. ;)

Sorry to say, but I sincerely wish I never have to witness more infantile behaviour than we already have in game. But, should it happen we are bound to months of nonverbal communication with child characters, I could only hope to see it done by Wichita, who already does a good job at it.

I'm honored you think so; I've had character experience in both 'fathering' and being the 'offspring.' The father role that Locke took on was definitely much more extensive and vivid to the environment than any other, and was the first true in game adoption.

However, the most thorough experience was with Angus, when he joined Clan MacGregor and as Maily Yumm's ballad goes, "He took me as a son." This allotted many years for learning and absorbing the ways of the Clan (and family unit) on a usually subtle level. It probably was not best to spread the word of this relationship when Angus often found himself alone or with limited assistance in the thick of anti-MacGregor bigotry. However, in time, the Clan needed him to take charge in his father's declining years. From this emerged one of the strongest internal conflicts I have ever seen in a character for a sustained period of time, and I say this after having seen Hobbes' tribulations with his own demons of a long-lost 'home' and Lockes' disillusionment with the MidNorth Union (as described in the recent Webzine article). Angus' division still remains unsettled today, "Am I the leader of the Clan? Or the painful legacy to it?"

In conclusion, I prefer the overall experience in both worlds that Angus has been able to provide. It certainly brought a whole new depth to roleplaying that I had not been priveleged to before and, all the while, added to the society simulation in terms of a hereditary lines. Therefore, I don't think actual changes to the game mechanics are necessary to effectuate this.

My character would probably want to be breast fed all the time.
