Is anything after page 3 ever relevant? Nick's thread that ended up talking about bodyspray... and many other things.

Well, they can be if you actually have a counter argument.

Well, there was a discussion of how the society of Cantr affects how a**holes are treated. I guess you just didn't have any more discussion left so you decided to take a cheap shot? And yet another, as I see with your quip about the pages.

However, I won't resort to cheap shots and quips directed at you, because that's not what the discussion was about.

So, anyone else have more to add about technology levels and societal levels and their correlation to each other in Cantr? And why these things cause a**holes to be treated so harshly?

It's a cheap shot in the sense that it's completely off topic and kills the discussion. I don't care what you meant to communicate by it - it clearly wasn't relevant.

deadboy wrote:Nah ive got to agree though, in real life if somebody takes, what the equivelent of notes, maybe a notice off a billboard, you dont rip out an uzi and gun them down, even if they refuse to return it, and the same if somebody slaps you, you might be a bit suprised, but again you wouldnt gun them down

Uhm, speak for yourself, treehugger  (Joking of course, I know you don't hug trees. At least, I think you don't actually... eh... never mind. Just don't steal any pieces of paper when I'm packing an uzi, which, by the way, is not such a great weapon...)

deadboy wrote:fine... then if its not western civilisation, and its like african tribe or whatever, then..... then.... well they cant make the paper to write notes on in the first place :P
EDIT: actually thats always something ive wondered, how do all these tiny little tribal places seem to have infinate supplies of industrial grade paper? when you cant even make a log without working for days im suprised paper just appears outa nowhere :D

The ancient Egyptians were in Afrika, and they had papyrus, and plenty of other examples of such stuff can be found.
For example, who says it's not goat's hide treated with urin and stuff, that Cantrians write their stuff on?

Other societies used silk or hemp as a form of paper as well.

Paper from trees didn't become popular until the 18th century when the American lumber industry was able to get hemp plants illegal to grow and illegal to sell hemp products in the US so that the sole place that paper can be gotten from was lumber.

I think I read that the paper used in American bank notes contains silk fibers.

This may be a rumor but I heard American Dollars have marijuana in em. I've tried smelling them but they don't smell anything like marijuana.
