Plus this all goes back to the orginal point that characters must have learned something during those first 20 years.

I guess the same would go for resources. If a char has never seen or heard of copper, how would they know that it even existed?

However, when a char does see copper, he will automatically know what it is for, which is fine. That's what's been missing up to now.

I agree. I like this idea, but I have a bad feeling we will be getting lots of email because of people spawning asking people how to get to a town they never even heard of to gather a resource.

So many things that need to be tweeked. Such as this line that states that information about the things in game will not be provided ooc. Well that seems to have changed.

As long as locations aren't allowed to be mentioned I don't see how the wiki can cause a problem like that...

How about filtering out what noobs can put in. Like maybe u need 2 be playing for a month or two before you can post your things in the Wiki? I'm a little worried that some noob will come in and erase everything and put in random things that have nothing to do with anything.
Micheal Jackson sucks.
Or is it our legal system?

It's easy to roll back changes, Homer. Even if they did manage to screw it up it's pretty easy to fix.

It is easy to return to what there was before a change. Anyway, I have been adding my share of updates to existing material, and several new items such as the alumina refiner, which I am sure will interest many people.

I actually thought you were being rude when you called him homer. LOL. Then I saw that his name had homer in it. ha ha ha
I think that everyone should be able to contribute to it even new people, because things that they see as important might be over looked by some of us that have played for a long time.

Actually, all content on the wiki will be required to pass the West Test. If I think it's cool or useful, it can stay. Everything else gets replaced by pictures of food.

Mmmm....fooooood.

I have been working on getting a list of resources up, defined, and linked to the appropriate sections. I could really use some help if anyone is looking for something to do.

Everyone keeps saying that it could be turn back... But can it be turned forward. I mean if it is that easy to turn it back and not forward, I think I've found another way of messing it up.

Relax. Changes are tracked. You can't roll it back without it being able to be rolled forward again.

Don't forget, this is the same engine that powers Wikipedia. They've figured this out pretty well.

* Machine Guide To Cantr v1.0
* Machinery

Hmm, there's 2 machine guides under the "Equipment" section?
