I'll say it again as I did in the other topic like this one. What about some older characters or is everyone here too new to know any of them? All the characters, except a few like Seth Everett, I have never even heard of. I'll name a few older characters whom I think were some of the best role played characters ever to grace Cantr.

Alexi Romanov
Senacca Hawethorne
Maynard Leeward
Jonathan Russell

That is just a few from dozens that I could name.

This is what happens when you leave cantr, man! This is the new school of cantr, the next generation. You're worshiping Kirks and Spocks and missing out on all the Jean-Lucs and Datas.

Just because some of us are new(ish, I've played since ~700) doesn't mean our characters are less potent than those old fossils you mentioned.

I'm just saying that we shouldn't forget about all the great older characters many of which I have not seen the likes of since they have gone.

And you should remember that a lot of the characters and their actions have created the situations and cultures that your characters are today building upon.

And I love history. I love to see how things affect each other. I'm big into cause and effect.

But back on point, perhaps your characters wouldn't be the way they are today if it weren't for the characters of the past. So should we forget those characters so easily?

Not everyone has forgotten them. :) Though I can only mention a person so many times.

Actually I consider myself old generation. Or something in the middle. Certainly not new.

Oh crap! Am I in the 60% club? Time to make an annoying post, then login and steal all the notes.

@slowness: So you're saying that you do like 40% of us, eh? Well considering that the population of Cantr has grown alot since the first generation you're bound to get a lot of annoying characters. But maybe you don't like the new generation because their new ideas are different from your grand hopes for the future. Because they have their own attitudes, their own causes, their own fights that you're on the outside of. And you miss being one of them. (and by "you" of course I mean your characters.)

Why don't you all just ffffffade awaaaaaay
Don't try to dig what we all s-s-saaaay
I'm not tryin' to cause a big sensation...
Just talkin' 'bout my g-generation...
My generation! My generation baby!

People try to put us down
Just because we get around.
Things they do seem awful cold...
I hope I die before I get old...

I find that many of the "new generation" characters are lacking in personality. I don't like it when I havea character in a town and I can sit there and read posts, but there are 5 females with a personality just like the character right next to them. The same reactions, the same emotions, the same expressions. It gets monotone. Very Dry. Dull...very...Sad... So that's why I don't like 60% or so of the "new generation"

Oh? But at least they have a personality of some sort - though I can't say I would have noticed any notable similarities between characters played by different people. The problem is the bunch of people who just gather food then start a project for years and pass out, never even trying to communicate. It just accumulates in bigger towns. Because many people join the game without knowing what it's all about, and don't have motivation to take care of all their 15 characters. While look at the Swedish region now. All of a sudden it has come to life, though there's not so many characters they all know what they're doing, everyone knows each other and no one is sleeping anymore, since if you do that you'll be picked by the gorillas. People probably don't have many characters there, I only have one, so they take better care of them.
