You crack me up! Actually, her getting away has really made the dynamics different in the Clan. They are pissed that she ever got away and swear to never let it happen again.

They've been perfect except for that one slip up. In a way I'm glad she got away. They'll always be looking for her.

but that's what makes her stupid. a good trade benifits both parties, and so she is only hurting herself out of spite.

A good trade is the one which benefits me the most

well yeah, but if i rip people off too badly they won't trade with me anymore, so i try to be reasonable.

As for whoever I want to kill... a large number of my charries just beg me to go to canada to strangle Ethan Blackrock's player, but I like other charries he plays.

Geez... mention number four on this topic. People just really don't like my characters, eh?

The problem here, is not with losing characters, or an overwhelming mass of people wanting humanity.

I think the point oasis and Nitefyre are trying to make, is that even a silent killer would have facial expressions. Killer could be handled, so could silent....if there was the slightest impression it had a personality. ALL it looks like to myself as well as others is a greedy player.

IE Rather than going: "You see Blah entering blahblah" "Blah hits you with a diamond encrusted sabre for 23%" "You see Blah leaving"

It would be nice if you could at least go: "You see Blah entering blahblah" "Blah says: *He stares at the people emotionlessly, raising his sabre with brutal force and swinging with all his might* "Blah hits you with diamond encrusted sabre for 23%" "You see Blah leaving"

To me, the former is crappy RP. There is nothing spectacular about it because anyone can do it. Angering? Yeah, but no different than the next who does the same thing you do.

I love the introverted and/or mute character idea, but I think Missy also has a very good point. I don't know if it makes me angry as much as sad to think that I'm just not able to distinguish someone trying to roleplay a silent char from someone who is just trying to collect as much stuff as is possible without letting the pesky RP become a distraction.

One of my chars is mentally challenged and only speaks in one word sentences, so I spend most of my time describing the communication through body language, facial expressions, etc. If I didn't do that, he would just look like another sleeper and I wouldn't be able to irritate nearly as many of the other characters.

Caveat = If the silent killer is a ninja...that completely changes the discussion. Tenchu enters, Tenchu kills blahblah, Tenchu leaves. That's as stealthy and ninja-esque as I can think of.

Er, why does putting moral judgements and giving secret information in an emoted action make it better? I like the facial expression here, but "brutal force" is bull and "swinging with all his might" is not something your character can decipher. If he/she's got a clue, they can figure out he was hitting on 100%, but that's beside the point.

I agree, RP livens things up, although it's a pain to RP when no one is really paying attention. RP for its own sake and giving out some information through RP bothers me. For example, I remember a character who has long emoted sequences where she cried, gazed off at the road thinking of the person she'd lost, her mind collapsing and whatnot, etc., ad nauseum. How would anyone know? Similarly, RP including the character's name, or with false implications/meaning, is stupid. Relative physical location RP, or restraining RP, can make me jumpy. And no one has EVER fallen down a bloody coal shaft, partly because there are no bloody coal shafts!

Kill Crag. He's a sadistic bastard who hides behind a mask of innocent third-person speach. Plus, I hate that war tag game he plays. Nothing's wrong with his RP, although I'd like to know how he got so twisted. Ironically, a character of mine who uses third-person speach is currently losing his grip on reality.

Claps. Man, stick it to 'em!
I *smile* or *grin*... but not ridiculous emotes that pretty much tell a speech just by standing or looking around.

I'm not going to argue my point, but let me say that it would even soooo be cool if he could at the very least *smirk.* or be *expressionless.*

I was merely explaining why, granted my example used detail that wasn't or isn't needed and it would have been fine to leave it at *Staring emotionlessly* there's a dislike for the silent-killers who are in-swing and out. Leaves a drab impression on some people.

LOL Was that me? Woah boy, I kept getting shouted for it, well at least twice, but sometimes the things going inside a character's head are too big to be kept inside. Separating the inner world from what others can perceive can be hard, so just putting what ever you feel straight down is much easier. I think the best time I managed to keep the inner world hidden was when she replied aloud to a voice in her head. But the point is, wouldn't you be able to see if a person close to you is feeling miserable? Unless you're authistic that is. You might not guess the reasons though, that was my mistake. But normal people can tell the difference between sadness, pain, discomfort, fear etc.

Oh, on other thing, getting the

You see X leaving Jail, entering the City.

X hits you with a sabre. You lose 38 percent strenght.

You see X entering Jail coming from the central area of City.

makes the PLAYER feel that his/her character is treated like an object. All the hard work put into bringing that character alive and trying to archieve his or her goals has gone down the gutter because to the killer you are nothing but a newspawn sleeper. If you rp to someone in an otherwise empty room, you say to them that you believe they're reading what ever messages you cause, and that the player behind doesn't want to hurt you as a player even though their character is killing yours. It's about respect. You respect their literacy, intelligence and presense.
