I played Luther! I missed Katie so much after they were both massacred. That was my first character death, very traumatic. I remember waking Luther up on the road to be inches from death, a van load of Pier Anthony`s (think that was his name) thugs murdering me, and as I typed my plea for mercy, they slaughtered him.

Re: Characters you played that you really miss
Piers Anthony's cronies killed the first character I lost, all because she helped some nice guy drag people out of a van, not knowing that the nice guy had actually stolen said van with the people inside.

I remember Luther, that was a long time ago, good times.. ground breaking in Cantr City, she wasnt my first loss but by far the one that hit home. put alot into that character. What i still never understood was katie was heading to talk to Pier to get the lies and rumors sorted out that people where starting. only to be killed on the road by a van load. Luther was a good character, i miss cantr city back then. Had alot of good folks, destroyed by lies and greed.

Henry Silverblood (Lord of Xendra)
Marcus Hobble (Last survivor of the DoUrden-Lad conflict)
Lopan (Priest of the Holy Father)
Those would be the three I miss the most, although there have been many others I miss such as Lupus Black (so I could have circulated the second part of the Atlas), Steven (the Blackrock mercenary), Edwin Edmunson (the tumbling bard of Zuzi) and Robert Xanth (victim of the Xanth massacre).

Re: Characters you played that you really miss
a few that come to mind...
i miss playing Man Animal. he got to his peak, had a ship a harbour, was well know and had well over 100 friends across the north coast from rfe to zuzi and some places inland. one of my few heavy rp chars
i miss playing Tamara Vasquez, second head of the tutonic knights and with the evolving regional politics at the time had very high potential of gaining some sort of presidency of what would have emerged as a huge(for english cantr) republic
i miss playing Prage (aka the father of shortinazy) friendly yet very strict when it came to the security of the nation. his hopes and dreams were high and progressive. totally miss how much further he coulda taken it.
i miss playing Chimera Breese (empress of sjoftich) that was by far the largest friken nation I have ever ruled in the 8 years i have played, though she didnt get to tour her newest aquisition from the rogue prince pirate she captured, i put immense time and effort into planning the systems to make it a powerully well functioning country. woulda been nice to still be ruling that massive chunk of cantr island.
i also miss playing Zjira Manuela Lenz (queen of valeria) from the day she spawned i decided to play her high risk, she had a country had a large war, killed her arch rival and if i had been thinking more clearly could have avoided dying.. at least avoided being killed when and where she did. man that was my top warlord in this game to date, also the physically strongest char i had. and even with all that she still had rp value, i liked using lines from nelly furtado songs for mottos and stuff in her recruiting poster lol she may have taken all of lake xiria had nothing stopped her so early and so far before she could.
Alexander Corvinus.... he was well on his way to potential lordship in the old commonwealth, would have catalysed the expansion to take over teregotha island, and he was also heavy rp vampire char just beginning his own coven starting with a wife and son. ugh unfortunatly as he feared, the nation was too weak and when someone came asking for his head for a mishap on the island, he was jailed and executed.
Eudora Dyson... first high chancellor of todays plaekur republic 9 city nation she got it to expand into empty cities (both from just not being settled or having been ravaged during the previous war) she had an advanced economic system comming about, strong political structure designed and quite a life story, even survived an assasination attempt.
Solana Nightshade, very physically powerful, very wealthy and had her own territory under the jurisdiction of her corporation, she was not a pirate regardless of what everyone may wish to think, she was legitimatly defending her peple when they were assaulted during a salvage, if she were a pirate... the witnesses who left unscathed and unthreatened, would have been killed and pillaged. unfortunatly, some friend and crew who she thought she could trust and really had nothing to do with anyone or anything in the place the mishap happened,. came by, nabbed her and then murdered her with the assistance of her detainees (her honesty got her killed had she lied and said they were gone or dead, she woulda been left in peace, go figure)
oh i should also mention Oscar Drudge, and Arthur J Gromitt, both centered their lives around Baaak, both were millitant, pseudopolitical, class 1 @$$ #@!#$, they were both heavy rp @$$ #@!#$, it was their defining feature, ugly green @$$ #@!#$, i loved it for comming home and having a char i could vent through because they were known @$$ #@!#$ and if they popped up being @$$ #@!#$, it was perfectly within character.
Sylvia Muog queen of vray, i dunno i just really really liked playing her. running that tiny city but it was really nice, sadly i find MOST of my chars who encounter dourden, have problems. i have had a couple that got along with dourden but therwise it is a sad coincidence, and they came ordering her to turn over one of her people and being the insanely principled char she was, refused to, and demanded he have a trial at home.... following came a lovely dourden lead massacre.
Sandra Lahktia, silver knight naval commander, before a distinctive blowup between the silver and stone knights, she was very good friends and visited the forest hapily. also got along well in olip region, and just had a nice friendship in the whole corner of the island. she had some rp value and had a good time in the silver realm, was ready to head up some heavy naval training and long range missions but... she suffered when i got pissed off at how i lost solana... sorry
and though not as long played as most, Hans Chamberlain, had a good wife, both duke and dutchess of a good city, he had a very very short temper but his insults and arguments were always done with class, he did not swear but he could tear you a new one just the same
and how could i forget Vladimir Tassadar, king of olip west.. make that Olypia, when he got olip to sign a unification treaty. he was my oldest char ever, passing the 150 year mark, he had friends and connections all around that southern portion of treefeather, friends on northern cantr and hoped to get his allies and other friends to join into something that... he died on his way to present it to his first ally just after expanding the kingdom into 3 cities (ya there was a colony on omeo island i count), insanely wealthy, sucessfully turned his kingdom bilingual and often had a hard time finding enemies.

lol
the city was empty when the salvage operation began, when they were undocked and ready to leave someone came, boarded the salvage ship and attacked one of her people, he was arrested and she was talking to him, refusing to listen to her he insisted she was a pirate and she had no choice but to keep him for the safety of her and her people, through all the threats he cast as well, knowing he had a companion, she had to take her too. in all truth she was not a pirate, but one person was unreasonable and a big threat and the innocent woman.. was a threat by virtue of association.. because she was not a pirate she intended to keep them alive and give them large spacious quarters without asking for slave labour. if she was a pirate, i woulda just cut them down along with the 2 visitors who were in town at the time and left unbothered.
she may have been mistaken for a pirate but she really was not.

I remember Nina getting kidnapped by the Polish pirate hunters who said that Solana was a pirate. They said she died of a heart attack in town.

Re: Characters you played that you really miss
Not going to argue the points
.. but, from my point of view, it was an act of piracy, they were gone only a couple days getting sand for the road, when you live someplace alone, There was a note left behind, stating so, sometimes you have to leave things unattended, the ship was not salvaged but stolen... still, an act of piracy...
Anyways.. well played..
Anyways.. well played..

I think I remember some brief tangential interaction with king Vlad and he was very kind... cozy. I wish I would have known him better; my char there left the town not long before his death if I remember right.

Aaaawww... I miss him A LOT. A pity he died, a biggest pity that all his treats and stuff were lost...
