I don't believe any animals should be domesticated other than that of those that characters can actually gain from. My opinon rules out the domestication of birds snakes scorpions and wild boar. I would although like to see horses cows chickens and wolves domesticated. Horses for riding, cows for milking, chickens for eggs, and wolves for pets. The rest? the rest of the animals should remain burdens for the societies of cantr.
rabbits should eat any carrotts or potatoes laying on the ground. This could be such a pain in the butt for people who are farming mass quantitites of food t hat ends up on the ground. LOL
Any other animals that live off of vegetation that i (personally don't want domesticated) should do the same.
I'd also like to see animals attacking animals. Wolves should be attacking the rabbits, as well as birds if there are any. Birds would eat the scorpions and snakes.
I don't believe that allowing all of the animals implemented into the game,to be domesticated- would be realistic for one.Nor balanced for two. At this point in cantr if comparing to the real world, the only animals domesticated would be horses and wolves. Everything else people never touched. Or at least it was not popular to touch. (Unless you are pretending your some sort of spell caster in the movie scorpian king- which isn't aloud in game i don't think ) LOL Cows and chickens were merely milked and eggs stolen from. Its hard to define domesticated when referring to cows and chickens. They arent exactly tame animals even when they are used for resources.
In actuality if you've read my whole post thoroughly- Wolves and Horses should be tamed domesticated enough they can be pet and controlled by characters. Cows and chickens should be domesticated enough they can be milked- but are not always so tame and will still peck your hand off or knee you in the shin given the chance to do so. And the others as said before should remain burdens- attacking people and stealing food from the ground as well as eating and attacking other animals that are not of its kind.
This would create the "Circle of Cantr life" Go lion king?!?! lol
We should have the ability to 1 to build fences- corals- barns- and chicken coups.
We should have the ability to drag those animals into the designated places. IE chicken into a chicken coup. Cow into a coral, horse into a coral/barn
Chicken should be able to be drug by one person seeing as how it is small by nature.
Cow should be drug by six people or more seeing as how cows are big by nature.
But they should all be drug, just as characters are already able to drag others.
But should factor in the fact that animals will not go willingly- someone(s) dragging any given animal that is (aloud) to be drug stands the chance of losing health if pecked-kicked-bitten
(note that when I say "(aloud)", in my origional idea i stated only some of the animals should be able to be domesticated. Another words you won't be able to click on every animal and drag.....only ones that have the option to drag would you be able to drag of course.)
Perhaps after this idea is implemented- other things such as traps, lassos, leashes, collars, horse shoes, cow bells, troughs, could be implemented.
Traps making it easier to catch things like rabbits and wild boar
and chickens
horse shoes could be required if you were making your horse travel or be ridden and they would/should wear out and have to be replaced.- perhaps when you put horse shoe on the horse it works just like a project does for the characters except goes backwards- "Your horses shoes are 59%useful" dispalyed by the horse could be a smiley face showing its happiness with the shoes...
leashes for wolves could prevent the animal from attacking citizens who provoke them
troughs would be needed because you can't domesticate animals and not feed them...They'd need to be fed....players would have to farm for the animals..carrotts, raw corn, potatoes
If there ever comes a time when we actually make meals, characters could save the scraps from the potatoes to give to the animals to feed them....etc
and the wolves we domesticate? WOuld have to be fed as well....we know dogs don't care for veggies but will eat them if they have to. So this makes another task for the character....they'll have to go and hunt for meat to feed the wolf.
But...I don't feel any animals at all should be able to be domesticated until there is the ability to build some place to store them. That is the one thing im addement about. If you all insisist we domesticate all in some way fine. I JUST TOTALLY COMPLETELY HOPE it is NOT implemented before there is some place to store them/keep them contained. Because I personally won't be having ANY of my characters trying to domesticate an animal without having some place to put it! Well except for maybe dominic might try that...LMAO

as for everyone saying that the attacking the animals have been doing is just too much? I'm in agreeance. I believe the attacks are random. However .....it IS too much. They attack to much- and take away to much strength from characters.
I've lost one char already/with in the time frame of one day of attacks.
Some people will never feel the rath of that for their characters have been around long enough to obtain shields. Others stand no chance especially "noobs"...and even more especially noobs who have chars that have been spawned in towns that aren't economically fit...ie those that have no buildings and those that seem to have a ruff time getting stuff like shields together.
I totally don't see how this is fair to people who get new characters or accounts, if there are six animals chasing and attacking. Its just not.
I don't like to complain much, and I know I've represented myself as an anally spoken person lately...But at least now I'm putting my two cents in.

I agree.
But perhaps their could be wild pigs, or the possibility to "tame" boars into pigs?
I like the idea of having domesticated pigs and having them multiply, openin up the possibility of a "meat factory".
This would be a good alternative for a more advance harvesting system.
The idea of traps is good, it could be everything from simple traps to catch rabbits up to bear traps.
(Perhaps there should even be a way to trap other humans...?)

I think goats should be able to be domesticated, some places drink goat's milk I hear. Also sheep are used for this too I have heard, as well as for their wool. Some other animals that I can't think of right now too.

Actually, yes, anthropologists are coming to the conclusion that goats were among the first domesticated animals, if not the first. Goats, sheep, and horses are all used for milk in various parts of the world. Goats also produce wool.

Heres a suggestion. How about some kind of goad that you can build , so that it doesn't take 6 people to drag a cow somewhere. The tamer the animal the more chance the goad will work. There could be various other tools for training and controlling animals as well. For instance, if you had a dog, at first it would be impossible to control with a leash (just like a real dog) but as you use it more the dog gets the point and eventually starts walking where you want it to (like a real dog) although if it was like a real dog, keeping it from peeing would be a challenge lol.

When you talk about domesticating an animal, you ahve to think about what that means. For the most part, it's them letting you lead them around and not attacking you. Just about every animal in real life can be trained to do that. Should I mention the circus? Making them do things should perhaps not be put into the game.
And as for corals for herding animals? We already have something that can be used for this... You just have to think on it a little. The only thing that would have to be improved on the current programming is the ability to pull animals or train them to be pulled. And have them lay eggs/be milked, too.
