Don't like it? Ignore it.
Like it? Play along.
Character no longer actually being a character-ish (or looping through portals)(CRBing)? Complain about it.
Simple guidelines.
I personally think that anything that can't be tested by using the game mechanics can be used.
Like mustaches -- The game mechanics can neither prove nor bust mustaches.
Multi-limbs..? -- I am not yet sure whether or not the game mechanics can help out here.
Portals..? -- A portal would mean, as has been stated, that the character can 'travel' from one location to the other. The multi-limbed mutant-thing seems to have 'traveled' a few meters through this summoned (I am not sure if I remember correctly, but I think 'summons a portal' was how the rogue-multi-limbed-character emoted it) portal. Which would mean the portal would allow the character to instantly travel from A to B. From anywhere to anywhere.
The Game mechanics to do not allow someone to travel from anywhere to anywhere within a split second.
Portals?

That's generally my view of things, Caesar.
But my main "worry" is on the multiple limbs, not so much the portals.
...and that's because I generally view things in the manner you did. Cantr mechanics don't say people have X amount of limbs and there isn't a "rule otherwise".
ALSO: I think that should be the standard for players... though I don't like the mentality.

I presume that it was assumed that we're not stupid and would know that 'people' (quoted as it is a term used in-game) would be humaniod...
Disclaimer-
-I'm not saying that non-humaniod superior aliens are not 'people'.
Disclaimer of disclaimer-
-That disclaimer is from both my fear and respect of superior aliens (humaniod or not) and not suggesting that Cantrian are superior aliens. Seriously, up to 15 of them can be controlled by any idiot with an email address and help filling in the registration.

Lizard-people, cat-people, caterpillar-people... these are all forms of "people".
....Catapillar people are humanoid?
personally i found the humaniod hybrids tacky. If your playing a feline why dont go the whole hog and play a sphinx. Well not here as they are both CRB as sphinxs are mythical and feline are dnd.

First line: - A humanoid is a hybrid term from Latin humans "human" and the Greek -oeides expressing likeness.
It needs to still at least resemble a human. People with, lizard tails, cat eyes, caterpillar antenna... I've already seen most of these IG.

The GAB has discussed it and concluded that Cantr characters are human, or as human as they can be as dictated by the game mechanics. That still leaves a great deal open to interpretation by the players.
This is in response to the ridiculousness that spawned this topic, and is not intended to start an inquisition against characters that may be considered human with exotic features (odd hair colors, deformities, genetic diseases, etc.) This is meant to give the PD a platform to stop 8-armed giants.
I suppose this should be posted someplace more official, but I don't want to make it out to be a larger deal than it is (as 99.99% of of us have been playing this way since we spawned our first character). Maybe someone could add it into the wiki in the appropriate place?

I didn't say the example at hand wasn't full on retarded, I'm just saying there wasn't a real line... and now there is.
And you could STILL do a human with lizard scales or tail or whatever, they just couldn't BE a lizard person. (Which I'm not only okay with but fully support.)
On another note, I am tempted to spawn someone with a tail, now.
That bold part, though, made me laugh. "As human as Cantr mechanics allow."
Cause Cantr mechanics ONLY STATE "homosapien male/female" and their strength, that's it. (One is based on the rule stated and the others are actual mechanics)
So I suppose the ruling is... "Keep them mostly human and don't be a jackass with it."

Maybe they intent to change it to make it a little more specific...
