Well I don't quite remember how long the forums were down... Was it really since Sunday night? That's an awfully long time.

Ya they were. Went down about 10pm GMT if i recall. The conversion process was very, very long and i ended up having to do it 2 times. Reindexing alone takes about 28 hours.

So basically if I got the characters that were spawned on days 2867 to 2870, that should approximately cover it.

159 characters were spawned during that time frame and two of them have already died.

Language distribution among the spawns:
English - 86
French - 4
German - 6
Spanish - 10
Esperanto - 1
Polish - 81
Turkish - 1
Portuguese - 21
Finnish - 1

Oh and there were 52 pending characters that were included in the language counts. I'm not sure how pending works, I think they might be initial characters for new players that haven't been accessed yet.

Seko, could you compare it to the number of new characters that spawned during the equivalent period for multiple weeks prior (averaged). It's the only way to see if there was an increase due to the forum being down.

One of my swedish chars is sitting on top of a big pile of those, seriously thinking about smelting them again. ;)

Would be fun to try to get them to work again tho, but we'd need a lot mor players around first.

Doug, comparing to a time multiple weeks prior would be more greatly affected by general fluctuation than something like the forums being down. I looked into the last five weeks and it was approximately the same as last week but had gone down by about 50 from about a month ago. So there definitely wasn't an increase.

It might be possible to check if spawning increases on certain days of the week by using modulus. Let's see...

For the last 700 days:

Day mod 7 / Spawns

0 7280 3rd lowest
1 7192 2nd lowest
2 7161 Lowest
3 7416
4 7836
5 7322
6 7395

At the moment 0 is Thursday, so 1 is Friday, 2 is Saturday, 3 is Sunday, 4 is Monday, 5 is Tuesday and 6 is Wednesday but since the database has been down and times have changed many times over, it's not exactly reliable.

For the last 350 days:

0 3640 3rd lowest
1 3701
2 3474 Lowest
3 3557 2nd lowest
4 3773
5 3766
6 3774

(I'm doing these in multiples of seven for a hopefully understandable reason.)

For the last 175 days:

0 1591 2nd lowest
1 1725
2 1580 Lowest
3 1633 3rd lowest
4 1742
5 1786
6 1733

For the last 70 days:

0 559 2nd lowest
1 614
2 544 Lowest
3 598 3rd lowest
4 689
5 639
6 617

For the last 35 days:

0 230 Lowest
1 326
2 298 3rd lowest
3 304
4 390
5 301
6 282 2nd lowest

There certainly seems to be some sort of a pattern.

Not sure about other language groups but in PZ most of coin systems fall from use in relative short time after introduction. I think Wolne Miasto Pola Vlyryan is example of this. Not sure what is "Blojty", but name sounds Polish. Never heard about them but about char with similar name. Anyway there can be still one or two succesful coin systems in PZ not listed in this list. Some chars not bother even after finding many coins to check if they are still in use, even if they know cities from where coins are. They just reclaiming them to get resources. I think that most succesfull curency in PZ is iron.

I think the Blojty might (have) be(en) the currency of Blojt.

I figured I'd get you a list of the most active towns in Cantr this week. But since events are recorded per character and not per location, in order to get events by location I had to get the number of events per character, sort characters by town and count the mode for each town that seemed like it had any potential for being close to the top. But some places had no two characters that would have the same amount of events so for those I used average instead. Also it excludes observers that were spawned within the last 7 days since they wouldn't have had a chance to witness everything in the location.

International top 10:

1. Vlotryan (Polish) - 5215
2. Dom Bojran (Polish) - 2952
3. Bojholm (Polish) - 2951
4. Zatoka Urodzaju (Polish) - 2069
5. Klojt (English) - 1634
6. San D'Oria (English) - 1268
7. West Kol (English) - 1176 (using average)
8. Blackrock Forest (English) - 1136
9. Kishnakotis (Spanish) - 1129
10. Kannabia (Polish) - 1029

English top 10:

1. Klojt - 1634
2. San D'Oria - 1268
3. West Kol - 1176 (using average)
4. Blackrock Forest - 1136
5. Pok Desert (south) - 892
6. Shai - 869
7. Bhak - 815
8. Baaak - 799 (using average)
9. Sjoftich Hills (east) - 756
10. Blerk Hills - 742

The lists were written manually so there might be typos. These only count people outside. Baaak might actually be #5 if so many people weren't inside. Also a certain van would make it to #7. Now why does my brain keep saying 4chan party van?

Nice stats Seko. I would like to see most popular tools and weapons (I think it was someday in past, but it would be nice to see actual version).

This stat-run seems to imply that "with a sturdy steel battle axe you will live longer". Or something. :)

As usual, great work Seko, a pleasure to read.

Very nice. From a RD point of view I would also be interested in the items that haven't been build and aren't carried around, but I guess I can deduce that on a case by case basis.
Pretty in pink.
