Hey, hey! From what I've heard there is no magic in Cantr! Or am I just a muggle?

Look, if a man can *shrug* on the radio, then anything is possible.

Well, the fact that someone *shrugs* on the radio shouldn't be an excuse for others to make shitty notes. Imho it is something the PD should look into, instead of chasing people for breaking some vague, unwritten rules.

Except it's not, never has been, and I seriously doubt ever will be against the rules for people to make notes of event logs? You can choose not to do it yourselves but I don't understand having feelings that strong against others who don't feel the same way. There are thousands of these notes and they're valuable and fascinating to read so much of the time, the only things left of characters and entire towns from hundreds of years ago. That's the game's history, each one is a memorial to characters and their stories, and too much of it has already been lost. The sad thing really is that there's not more, in more accessible places, and the ones that exist so often weren't formatted in a more readable way.
You all are welcome to hate on them all you want just as a matter of opinion, but for me there's very few experiences in the game as unique as coming across a treasure trove of old event logs shoved away in an old envelope somewhere. That's a lot of what drives the Unnamed Educational Institution in Unnamed Town as well I'm sure.
And again, as an IC thing event logs make perfect sense. Your character can thinking back to something that happened a week ago and remember in photographic detail everything they heard or saw, the same way they know weights precisely or exactly how much wheat the average person can gather in a day and with which tools. Why is it so hard to believe they could write it down? Why wouldn't write it down? (For an IRL example, that's a little like the police having video footage of a crime or arrest and then insisting to the judge it's not 'fair' or 'realistic' to hand it over and how about you just vaguely summarize it all for them instead, wouldn't that be good enough?)
No one actually cares that much if you prefer not to use them, but I take issue with the idea of wanting to sic the PD on people who consider them valuable and useful things that add a lot to the game.

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
My opinion is that it rather influences the game in a bad way, rather than a good way, as it sadly takes away some nice opportunitues to RP. Also, the PD 'hunting' people for doing that now wouldn't make any sense, as people do it on daily basis. What I meant was that imho it should be introduced as a new rule to ban such notes.
Also, I admit that they can be valuable and fascinating to read. But still for me it has more downsides than upsides.

I don't think they should be banned, but I don't like them neither.
They feel extremely lazy to me. I copy paste and I forget the "RP" part. If I ever make any log-note, it's mostly because of that. I'm lazy or I don't have time.
I had this char once involved in some stuff. When the stuff finished, another of the chars involved, asked them to write what happened so they could not be blamed because what happened during the stuff. Each of the three involved in our side, wrote his own version of the stuff. I find those three notes, telling the same story each in its way, lots more amazing than what a log could had been.

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
In PZ we had a long and complicated investigation going. It was great, as there were a few witnesses, each of them giving their own account of the story. I wasn't involved in it personaly, but I've heard some stories about that from my sister. It would have never happend if someone had just posted the logs insted of recounting.
And on a side note: The rules of the game are extremely ambiguous and not clear for new players. I wouldn't have ever guessed that when one of my chars visits a town where my other char lives, then one of them should be sleeping. As long as they do not cooperate, then in my eyes there is no break of the CR. On the other hand, I would have bet that sharing logs in game is a break of the CR, as it sharing logs in my opinion violates the term 'The game must be played exclusively from the perspective of each individual character.' By sharing the logs we lose the 'perspective' part.

Perhaps you're misinterpreting that. Whatever is in the logs is still what the char sees/hears etc. Just because it is provided by/includes the elements of the game mechanics, it doesn't mean it introduces outside/ooc knowledge. It may not be great form, but certainly nothing that breaks the capital rule by sharing or any other actions pertaining to the notes. What the recipients of the logs will make of them is still their perspective, whether they take it as gospel or with a grain of salt.

My understanding of it - and feel free to correct me if I am wrong - is that characters may both be awake and even talk if it is in character for both of them. Most players choose to have one sleep for the simple reason that there is less confusion, they don't risk speaking through the wrong character, and it is simply not fun to RP with yourself.
If your characters need to trade (and you have exhausted every option to attempt the trade with someone else) you must contact PD before the trade comes up, or if you suspect it may happen.
You may not drag, attack, or in any way assist your other character, however, or attack a town where you have a character. If you think these circumstances may arise or have arisen, contact PD immediately. I again stress this is only my understanding as a player, from asking PD about it.

Promo, you are right, but the general advice is to keep one of the chars asleep. Especially if you are playing a villain and there are some special expectations...
Also, Chroma Key, I understand that now. But well, it only proves how ambiguous and confusing the CR is. And here we're going back to the old plea to state the rules in a clearer way.

That's something many of us want, and hopefully we'll get somewhere with the clarifications sought soon.
Recently nothing really annoys me. Haha, perks of not playing much at all.

There are lazies and hasties, while you can't make one do anything easily other almost plots killing you because of not filling his/her desires in a blink of an eye.

Well, that's your opinion. I love imagining scenarios where I put some of my chars together. I would love sooooo much to cross some of them... There would be casualties, probably. And it probably wouldn't be fun having one chat killed by another of my chars. But it'd be fuuuun...
