It is one of the main features of NDS that it would not change the cause of death. If they die because your character hit them with a battleaxe, your character killed them no matter what happens between entering NDS and death. This is also the reason the cause of death is shown as the weapon used to put the person into NDS.

An exception is made for roleplayed suicide by the victim. It's the only exception.

And I don't know, let's say you're a pirate, and someone won't drop their keys, no matter what you say. Only way to get them to do so is to NDS them--but you don't intend to kill them, and so you are actively healing them when they die. You did everything you could do. Same goes for leaders/guarders-->thieves, etc. They wanted to be obstinate, and you did all you could.

That's silly. If a doctor shot you IRL and then gave first aid, the cause of death when you bled out would still be them shooting you.

Recently had a character in NDS told they were being mercy killed (against their own wishes, of course.) When I didn't kill the character off immediately afterwards, thus proving that all they were doing was "helping," the other player (not PC) got heaps angry. It's bizarre how people just shrug and justify murder if someone dies under the 3 days because "they must have really wanted to die." It's very OOC.

I'm getting quite annoyed with certain characters and when they do their best to harass others. For no freaking reason, over and over and over and over. Stop. Enough. Cause it's getting out of hand. It's starting to get even more annoying. And maybe that's how it's played, but there's enough then there's too freakin' much!

There are certain characters that get praised here over and over again that I absolutely can't stand. I'd be surprised if we're not being annoyed by the same ones. I'm all for causing a little conflict, but I've been suspicious that some of it is driven by ooc feelings.

So round up some friends and kill 'em. Or at least try to intimidate them into shutting up. There are plenty of IG, IC ways to resolve the situation. And usually if someone pushes enough buttons, they'll provoke a violent response.

Thing that annoys and puzzles me: When people assume OOC reasons for IC actions. I keep running into this a lot and it bugs the heck out of me.

I'm with hyrle and Kyriel here. Should be dealt with IC, whatever the situation is. Though 'For no freaking reason' sounds like a pretty big assumption to make about another character's motivation.

If you think people are targeting you IC for OOC reasons, you should always report this.

Oh, that's not quite what I meant. I don't believe I'm being targeted at all. Without giving it away.. it's more like... someone on the forum board saying "I just absolutely can't stand potatoes in real life because potatoes are horrible stinky things"... and then with every character, going out and attacking potatoes and all potato-related things just because they personally in real life don't like potatoes. I understand personal feelings inspiring characters, but I also think there's a point when it's a little ooc? I don't know.. maybe I don't understand ooc actions all that much.

So your has had run ins with all the chars of the player in question, or are you just generalizing here? Because if the former, that's a bit strange all by itself.

I know I've seen two with the same player both deciding they hate the same char, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now because again, I don't like to make assumptions about a char's motivations.

I'm generalizing. LOL I highly doubt I've run into all the characters of any player.

I don't know about you, but my characters all seem to be inundated with potatoes no matter what I do, to the point of it being hilarious. :)

Well, there if may help that if you, as player, don't like some sort of person, if you find a character like that IC, probably you are not going to like it, and your chars neither...

It happens to me with a char out there, I think most of mine (that crossed him) hate him, but because as person myself I cannot stand him... I have a oh-so-nice char that is so-nice to hate him, but I feel like so bad having to be nice with him on character...

I remove myself and my characters from these situations entirely. It's not healthy mentally or emotionally for me to be around people I can't stand.
