I'm not arguing about that. I am arguing about the fact two people can drag a person into a building instantly, while it takes them a whole day to collect a banana.

I'm talking about the fact that two people can drag off one person from a group of people without them being able to defend themselves or counter the action which seems totally unrealistic.

There is currently a way to prevent ones-self from being dragged. I won't tell you how, because then that will put my charries at a disadvantage. It will be more fun for you to figure it out for yourself in-game.

Well, all I can say is that I sure as hell wouldn't be living by the coast if it was that dangerous with no way (except a borderline exploit) to defend myself, and I can't see a town sprouting up there until they have the technology to prevent that kind of thing. Personally I'd just live in the next town over and arrange gathering trips if there was anything I desperately needed there.

Silly Lumin, obviously this problem is not to be solved by trivial in game means such as this!
Complain louder and you will eliminate those bothersome trips!

Yeah, but in a undeveloped location on an island without wood it may take some time. :)

If the whole island has no wood, and you're underdevelopped... why the hell do you have pirates?
If they want your town so bad they should be able to take it if they're so superior. Don't blame dragging.

It's just plain weird that someone can only attack one person per day. I can't think of any culture that attacked their opponents once a day. Battle's take hours, not seconds. You should be able to attack five or six times a day, then dragging and locks wouldn't be all that warfare is.

One hit a day rule was from before tiredness, so it would make sense.
Otherwise you could just punch somebody until they died.

Five or six would probably be too many, but personally I think they should just do away with the attack limits entirely and let tiredness do its job.

You'd only be able to get in two, maybe three swings a day, and of course there's still no guarantee you'd even hit your target. Afterwards you'd be weak as a kitten, and easily dealt with unless you came to the fight well-prepared with reinforcements, healing food, and a battle plan.

Yes, removal of the one hit a day rule is one necessary step in making the combat system not so crappy.

I disagree with removal of the one hit per day. I recently participated in a test of a new game which did not have the one hit per day limit, although it did have the tiredness factor. It was really lousy to have my character perfectly healthy one day and then completely gone the next. I'm not saying it couldn't and doesn't happen in cantr...but at least there is usually the opportunity for some roleplay and possible defensive actions, because of the one hit per day limit.

However, I do agree that dragging should only be modified by increased tiredness.

With the right armor, nothing but a planned attack can kill a person in one day, even with two or three swings (I haven't fought with anything but the most basic of weapons, so I'm not positive on this). And if you don't have the right equipment, get off the front lines. Retreat away from where battles are likely to be fought. People died in the middle ages in the endless stream of wars between fiefdoms. Some of them probably died before they could get their sword out of its sheath. I think that walls would be a good way to help prevent innocent deaths like that in big cities. Then, of course, we'd need siege engines to destroy the walls. But it gives innocent citizens inside time to evacuate.

Just because the limit would be gone doesn't mean characters can be killed easily. You have to take into account aim, strength, combat skill, the weapon used, whether the other person has a shield, etc. You might be able to seriously injure someone by concentrating all your attacks on them, but in most cases it'd still be a few days before you could finish them off, even if they (along with everyone else in the town) were sound asleep the entire time.

The chances of a kill on the first day are pretty slim, unless you're talking about a completely rested, extremely lucky expert fighter with a crossbow against a single unarmed person...and in that case, would the victim have had that much of a chance anyway? Should they?

And okay, so let's say the crossbow wielder murders this defenseless person, presumably a newspawn, since anyone else would be carrying a shield. I'm sure this will give them a warm feeling of accomplishment, sure to keep them happy over the next few days as they're being chased down the road or standing inside a locked building, completely defenseless and unable to retaliate as they're beaten to death by angry townspeople...

I have one charry who can do close to 60 damage with a crossbow to someone with an iron shield.... and I have heard of others that can do better. Depending on the victim's shielding ability, it is quite possible that a charry can be killed in one day.... even within one turn.

Well in that case, wouldn't taking away the one hit perperson per day be good? I mean, in oliampfresh, if you had two of those guys, youd rule that plase in one day. I think maby 3 hits per day, thats without a wepon. And, i also think that with a claymore, youd only get 1 hit per day, since it is so hevy, and it ranges out like that. Maby it would be the crosbow that would have 1 hit per day, since it does the most damage.

Point is, tiredess already limit how many times you can effectively hit a day.
If three armed people want to take out the town leader, they should be able to... without a boat.
