Best type of government in Cantr in your experience.

Meh... I like small towns where there is no real government. I'm talking about places that have less then a dozen people. Makes it so easy to keep up on things, not to mention you happen to be out in the middle of nowhere. No ones gonna attempt to kill us when we got nothin to give.... or so we hope.

I find that life so boring though....
I preffer a small town, maybe 20 inhabitants, with a kind of loose government.

I like the Kwor-system with the guilds. It's a bit like a communistic economic strategy, but only if you want to participate in it. You are free to start you're own (capitalistic) company if you like, but it is probably hard to compete with the guilds.

A nice little tidbit, in the United States, the phrase "In god we trust" only started being printed on bills in the fities, as a counter to the soviets ardent atheism.

That's what bugs me. There are some people in my school who don't stand up to say the pledge at all. Some don't say, but stand, but some don't even stand! I don't say Under God, but they just don't understand that we probably have one of the best conditions in the world. They're all spoiled I'm sure... can't even honor their freedom to not honor their freedom... or something like that. Anyway, it just bothers me.

Why would you want to pledge allegiance to the queen? <i>Our</i> pledge of allegiance is to the flag of the United States of America . . . , and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Had to memorize that and say it every day in elementary school, before they even taught us what the words meant and before we could pass judgement as to whether our nation is <i>really</i> under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. That is so wrong . . . it's like brainwashing kids so they'll be patriotic . . . they don't even know what they are really saying. (Well, fine. <i>I</i> didn't know.)

I really wish they would remove any mention of God from anything government-related, though. (I'm a godless capitalist, I guess )

Actually, a republic is just any nation not ruled by a king or other sort of monarch.

As long as it has elected representatives.

Anyways, on topic: the most efficient form of government in Cantr, in my experience, would be a communistic dictatorship.

I also like the places with no real government, like Seatown Garden. There are people that take care of the place and assume leadership when necessary, but they never claim authority over anyone else, or force anyone to do anything. Goods are distributed freely to those who need them.

Are there, or have there been, any successful theocracies in Cantr? It's good to have religion on your side as a ruler (well, until it's manipulated against you, like you probably did in the first place in setting up the theocracy). There's a real lack of widespread, organized religion in Cantr, though . . .

I don't mind pledging allegience. I think it's a good thing to respect and be thankful for what a secure government can bring to the quality of your life. It's also important to acknowledge that for some people, faith brings an equal sense of security to the quality of a person's life. I don't think that they should be incorporated into the the same pledge. Separation of church and state is a good thing...


With that being said, I think I'll go spawn a new character and try my level best to create a totalitarian theocracy.
