Right, but I was under the impression that there had to be @ least 2 people in a location before spawning happened there...

Within the last day or two, yeah... Not at the time of spawning, but within a day, I think.

That reminds me of the way Orks spawn in the Warhammer games...when they walk around they release spores that in time evolves into a fully grown Ork.
That would explain by people spawn in their twenties :)

I've had a char on the new island (via boat) and seen people spawn but they're basically chum for the animals - we were all wiped out in short order. new spawns don't have a chance as they won't be able to gather enough food to survive before the animals kill them.

Those new islands will only ever be inhabited by well protected people who arrive there by some other means than falling from the sky.

As a matter of fact there was one person there whom got there by boat and on my travels I met 3 more so this indeed must be true......but still no animals but my char. is a very patient man. :)
a day without cantr, is a day spent in bed convulsing and suffering from withdrawl

Funny you should say that, Boom.

I know of at least one, possibly two groups like that (if one takes the bait) heading to where you mentioned. Should be interesting, especially as these groups, should they ever meet, would hate each other.

If there are still no animals, can you drop me an email where you are? ;)

Within the last 12 hours, if I am not mistaken.
